Gold Rush movies was significant because of more than one reasons. Charlie himself declared many times that this was the film that he most wanted to remembered for.
There are many scenes that I love a lot in this movie but one scene I would like to choose for this discussion.
The scene where Chaplin performs a "roll dance" in which he pretends two rolls skewered with forks are little legs and feet dancing on the table in front of himself!
Very lovely scene. That was my one of favorite scenes.
What about you? Which scene you liked the most in "The Gold Rush"?

I am his big fan. I love all his films. It is very difficult to point out one particular scene. There were so many real life funny incidents too. Our mahatma Gandhiji and Charlie Chaplin were both each others fan. Once Charlie came to India to meet Gandhiji. Gandhiji's assisstant didn't recognise him but he went and told Gandhiji that a foreigner has come to see him.
Gandhiji told him to send the gentle man inside. When he came and shook hands with Gandhiji, Gandhiji asked him who he was and what was the purpose of his visit. Charlie told him that he was his big fan and he wanted to meet him just like that. Gandhiji couldn't place him and so he asked what was his name. He casually said his name was Charlie Chaplin. Gandhiji couldn't believe his ears and eyes because he had come without his famous moustache. Gandhiji was extremely embarrassed and told him the reason for failing to recognise him and in fact he wanted to meet him long back. It was a big laugh riot scene.
That is Charlie Chaplin for you.
