First you must have a dvd writer, your computer must be capable in writing in a dvd disk /cd. Check if your computer if it has DVD-RW rom or CD-RW rom (optical drives). Then buy a cd-r / dvd-r(cd recordable / dvd recoradable) or cd-rw (cd rewritable / dvd rewritable). Check the disk capacity of your cds how many gig it can be stored there. Then you can begin with the writing of files to cds. You may try a copy and paste only from the file source to to disk drives wherein your cds are insterted for writing. Instruction will be displayed there on what you are going to do. You will see "write cd". That's it. So simple.

If you are using Microsoft Windows. Just go to my computer and select the CD ROM drive. Copy Paste the pictures or whatever you want to burn on your cd. Then On the File Menu, you will find the "Burn them into CD" option or whatever its in there that can help you burn that files into CD. Then you will be directed to a wizard. Just follow them and it will be burned. This is one way you can do if you don't have any cd writing program like NERO.

There are many softwares available for this specific purpose and even internet is full of such applications. On internet you can find many such softwares some of which are totally free and some demand a little money for the license. You can try for NERO Express which is a good software. You can also simply drag and drop the photographs to DVD / CD and then use the default application of Windows (Windows XP or above) to write them on CD/ DVD.

Normally it is easy to put photos on a cd or dvd but normally you can store your collection even on a pendrive now it is really normal to save favourite media on it and i think it is also practical as memory support anyway to put in it you just copy all images or folders you want save on the unit assigned to a pendrive normally e:/ and you are done!! As regards cd/dvd you can burn them using a softwares as nero i think the most popular or even search somebody online considering you need relally simple burning...there is also record now is a good program to burn your files on a cd/dvd!!
