I'd choose 4WD. Greater traction, greater acceleration, more stable, more control to drive and all the wheels wear out evenly. The only flaws I see in it is that it consumes more fuel and it is heavier than 2WD.

When I was a child, I had a bicycle which I used to go anywhere I wanted and there was no much problem for maintenance, etc. But now, I should want to have a 4-wheel drive and hopefully I could acquire one. My uncle has three and my other relatives also have cars. Me, none yet.

It depends on what you want to use the vehicle for. 4 wheel drive is good for getting traction in mud and snow (provided you have mud and snow tyres). For normal road use in normal conditions then 2 wheel drive is preferred as it is more ecomnomical, gives better performance and costs less to manufacture and maintain.
