Do you believe in prophetic visions? Do you think some people can see the future

I just recently found out that George Washington had a prophetic vision back in 1777. He was in Valley Forge and stopped to pray to God for guidance and strength. He was visited by an angel which showed him things that were suppose to happen in the future. All prophetic visions of America. The visions describe I believe the revolutionary war and the Civil War. A third vision describes a final war in the end times where all the nations of the world come up against her. I will provide a link so you all can read the vision for yourself. Do you believe in prophetic visions? Do you believe that God allows some people to see visions of future events? Or do you think this is all baloney. I find this topic fascinating. Let me know what you think about this. Not just about George Washington's vision in particular, but visions in general. Feel free to share your experiences.

*I am a tarot reader - so yes I do believe in the ability to foretell the future to some extent, though by doing this you alter what could happen by sowing the seed of a specific chain of events. If I look further at this aspect of "fortune telling" there is rarely a timescale given for these predictions - the reason given for this is that there is no timescale in the spirit world as their is in ours. My reading of the tarot has less to do with fortune telling and more to do with intuition... Intuition can tell you about a person or place. I have often had strong "deja va" episodes where I would swear blind that I had been there or done that before, but my family say I have not - this again could be seen as some kind of premonition... *I am also a scientist - that part of me says "no... you can't see the future", I could go onto quantum physics/mechanics with this one... but suffice to say that if you could see the future you would alter it...

I don't believe in tarot cards since since this involves the world of the occult which can be dangerous and is forbidden by God. This can involve invoking evil spirits which don't know the future anyway. Only God can see the future. I do agree with you that if we knew the future we might try to alter it. If you knew you were going to die by plane crash, you would probably avoid flying in airplanes. And this would create an alternate reality. The scientific side of me says there would be no way to know the future, but from experience, I can say that it is possible. I've had a dream of a future event which when I woke up happened exactly, event for event and word for word as it did in the dream. It was an inconsequential event, but it still showed me that God is in control. There is so much we don't understand. Thanks for your comment.

I can't claim to know the answer to this, but I think most of it is just a bunch of hoopla. The human mind is a powerful thing and we still don't know a whole lot about it. Most "prophecies" are so vague that they could be applied to a variety of situations.

I agree with you that many many if not most prophecies or visions that people claim to see are a bunch of baloney. But to me that doesn't mean they are all wrong. Many people are con artists so this is part of the problem. And others are into bad things and may be influenced by evil. But I do believe that God can provide someone with a true vision of the future or future events, the problem is trying to sort the wheat from the chaff. To tell the true visions from the false. It can be hard. I forgot to add the link to George Washington's vision so I will provide it here: http://www.soul.org/Legend2.html I am not sure about his vision. It does seem like it comes from God yet I am not sure. At the very least, it is very interesting. You should check it out. I hope others see it, since I failed to include it in my original post.
