What is the weirdest/grossest/or most unusual food you have ever eaten? Did you like it? Would you eat it again? Why did you eat it? What weird/strange food would you like to try?

Rosemary lamb *grin* The combination wasn't too bad, only I took forever to cut the meat, and equally long to eat. People outside of the Asia Pacific region however, seem to see these as common place. I've seen people comment about durian, and mangosteen, laksa and pork in curry, shark meat, etc. I want to try grits. I've heard so much about them, and how people either hate or love 'em.

LOL. I happen to love the smell! I tried baked rice yesterday. The rice is hard, and tastes bland, but the tomato sauce is spicy. Fortunately I love cheese as a condiment, so the experience wasn't a total waste. *grin* Is baked rice an acquired taste?

I've never had what you are describing. Was it rice with spicey tomato sauce and cheese? Some sort of casserole? I don't know. I've had another caserole with rice, chicken (I pick the chicken out), cream chicken, herbs, peas and mozerella. It wasn't so bad - you cook the rice on the stuff first and then bake it.

Yeah grits... I could either take them or leave them. They taste like nothing. I prefer them with cheese and pepper. Durian.... I've actually had it - not bad if you can get past the smell.

Oysters Anyone? - Gross foods, oysters on a half shell
I try really hard not to eat strange/gross foods. I get grossed out really easily. I also gag on certain foods really easy. I guess I would say the grossest thing I have ever eaten would be "oysters on the half-shell". They are raw, slimy, and disgusting. Some people view them as a delicasy though. Guess it just goes to show, to each his own, LOL.

EEEEEW! I have never tried oysters. It seems to me like swallowing mucus. I try to avoid slimy foods. And you are right -what person finds gross is a delicacy to others.

It was like mucus. YUCK!!! I am like you I try to avoid slimy foods at all costs. Something about them just automatically triggers my gag reflex.

Collard greens cut up and mixed with bacon bits and grease is one of the strangest foods. Collard greens when fixed like this are edible, but just boiled are like slime.

My food wasn't weird really but what was in it was. I went out to eat at a chinese buffet. I tried a clam and as I chewed I felt something hard like bone. It was a tiny white, calcified looking crab. I freaked out! I will never eat those kind of clams again. Yuck!

Oh that is gross! When I went to NY, We went to China Town and the buffet was really really gross. Not only was the food I selected gross, there were eyeballs offered as a selection. Ick!
