We believe in celebrating our anniversary. Although financial constraints have prevented us from really spending the whole day together somewhere out of town, we still make it a point to at least have a special dinner together. If our anniversary is on a Saturday, then we just spend the whole day together doing whatever we like. The important thing there is being together and not really how expensive your celebration is. With so many marriages falling apart these days, it's important that we celebrate and be thankful for another year that we are together

Our anniversary is typically a combination of the two ways. This year, for example, our anniversary was on a Friday, so my husband had to work. After he got off of work we went out to eat to celebrate and then watched a movie at home. It was far from the celebration that I expected. We've been married for five years now, but it was better than not being able to celebrate at all. We'd hoped to go out to dinner without kids and then go out to a movie but our child care plans fell through.

We always try to do something special for our anniversary, even though it doesnt always happen. For our 5 year anniversary, we went on a long weekend trip without kids. It was great! It was a nice break and we really enjoyed the time we spent together. Most times though, we go to a nice dinner together.
