Many people are talking about Obama's record as the first ever dark-skinned president of the united states, but I was wondering. What about an atheist president? I've met quite a few atheists, and though they do not base their lives on the teachings of famous religious figures, they're all pretty nice, really (: Having an Atheist President may also help improve America's stance on remaining a land free for all. Just a thought (:

Oh, no - atheists aren't innocent of wanting freedom and equality. I've met a lot of them that are equally as intolerant as a lot of religious fanatics. I would like to see an atheist in the White House, but I wouldn't vote for them just because they're an atheist. Being an atheist would just be a plus.

Lol (: I was more concerned about how the American Dream seemed to be undermined with this knack of choosing Christian Presidents :3 No offence to anyone, if I have offended you there :'( Thanks for your post (:

No, I wasn't offended. I'm an atheist myself. I just wanted to point out there there are some atheists who don't believe in freedom of religion, and can be just as bad as some Christians.

I am not so sure about that. even though he doesn't have ny religion what so ever it could affect his decisions that would decrease his popularity. and religious fanatics can really put him down with all of those controversies that he maybe facing with.

Hmm, I understand what you're saying (: 'Course, the first thing to discuss is whether the people will even elect him in the first place :3 Heheh. Thanks for posting there!

Can you answer me a question do you really think anything would change if an atheist was your president. I mean the position of the president of the U.S.A. hardly involves any religious aspects even though you are never gonna get elected in a country that has a high percentage of christians

Yes, I shall 'answer you a question' if you must put it like that. The perception of America in foreign countries (such as where I live, for example) may have been not as great as it should have been due to the President's own religious beliefs. I appreciate that religion should be seperated from politics, but still, people talk, and when tongues get a-wagging, people stop thinking. This was especially eminent when Bush decided to help Israel in its ongoing war against its Islamic neighbours, also due to the existence of America's large influencial Jewish community. I'm not saying that these ARE actual factors in shaping the president's decisions, but I'm saying that people may perceive these to be factors. Capiche? (:
