I have been very busy since last week. I was checking on the different schools and government programs that offer the MT course. It turned out that few schools offer the course and few people are interested on it. I only have 3 choices to choose from but these choices are giving me a hard time to decide. One friendly mylotter says that I should enroll at schools preferably affiliated to companies that offer MT jobs. The first school on my list is affiliated with the (AAMT) American Assoc. MT and also with the Philippine MT Assoc. I also like the school. It is a medical school and judging by the inquiries that I have gathered it is one of the best schools that offer MT course. But the problem is, I can’t enroll yet since they need a minimum number of students until they could start a class. The school has no idea yet when they will accept enrollees for the MT course since only 6 people are waiting and interested. They need at least 15 students. The second school that offers the same course and I can take it in just 2 months, medical or non medical graduate but the school isn’t affiliated with anyone but the government so I can avail it for free. But judging by the looks of the school, I don’t have confidence in enrolling on them. I am not judgmental but I need a school that’s reliable. The third school, now this is the take, I can take the course anytime and my schedule will be flexible and I can finish it within 6 months or maybe less but, just the same they are not affiliated with anyone. But they guarantee they will refer me to companies for my On the Job Training as an MT and that is included in the course. Now what school should I go for? I mean I am also talking time here. I don’t wane be wasting time. A school official from the second school I visited said it is not necessary to be affiliated with the AAMT or with any association cause’ what companies look for is the skills I would be learning and if I am good, then I can find a job as an MT. It’s not that I lack confidence but do you think in any field of job, is it necessary for the school where you trained to be affiliated? Would it help more in finding a job?

I would definitely go for the one with affiliations. You will find people will respond better once you are done and in the market.I did not take training of any type and got the job,but had been working as a medical assistant ,and still do odds and ends here from home for them.Affiliations is the place to start to assure you will get into the field.Once you have some experience under your belt. The sky will be the limit.

Oh I see.. So affiliations is really important and by that would mean I need to wait for the first school to inform me if they are already accepting students to take up MT course. But the problem is I don't know how long the waiting will take.. I feel like I'm in a hurry to take a training cause I might lose my chance on this field if it will take too long for me to wait. I don't know I just feel that way.

I personally think its very important to go to a school that is well known by companies seeking workers. It makes it much easier when you get out . A good school will hook you up with a good job. Because employers know the way they teach ,liking there skills and hire you for being affiliated with them.If you go for a job and no one knows of the school they may wonder ,what you really learned from a unheard name. I guess a school with a good reputation is your best bet no matter what.

Oh hi capsicum! Ok then, I will take your advice I will wait for the school to call me and I will keep calling on them too to let them know that there are people who are interested on the MT course that they offer. But now I am going on training by Monday on the school that is free cause I applied for the government scholarship program. Though it's not affiliated I will give it a try. It will only take about 2 months or less and I guess by that time, maybe the school with affiliations will then accept students for the MT course and then I will enroll again to acquire the benefits of getting a job easier. I just figured in this way, I am not wasting time doing nothing but just waiting for the school to call me. I hope my decisions is right. With fingers crossed!

well i did took up so many training centers just to fit in the call center industry but some how i stopped. my advice is that you give it a try. and then try to apply once you graduated from school with that course to see if you're gonna fit in.

But which school should I choose? Does schools with affiliations better than those who are not affiliated with any association? I am also after the certificate I will be receiving and somehow I feel with affiliations it is an advantage and it will help me in finding a job at MT field.
