AT what age were you when you got married? How long have you been married?

Young Marriages - young marriages and the length they last.

Previously I posted a discussion about elopment and marriage ceremonies for a statistic's class paper I'm writing. After the answers I figured that there was too much data to collaberate into a graph and into a paper. Therefore, I'm going to do a statistics paper on a person's age and how long they've been married to find out if it's true that the younger you are when you get married the less likely your marriage is to last. Please respond truthfully and let me knof if I can use your information as part of my paper. I won't be using names, just the age you were married and the number of years you've been married.

i was married at the age of 22 and divorced at 42. it depends on the man tha tyou have married for as you get older even the most lasting marriages break down due to different interests and goals we use to share and long since gone.

Twenty years is still a long married and I give you thumbs up for making it last so long. Sorry to hear it didn't last longer, but I thank you for your input. It's really nice reading these responses considering I myself got married at a young age.

I was 16 when I got married. I was married for 7 yrs but to add a twist, I am still with my ex. Some would say that we are common law married. But that is why I call him my partner instead of my husband...because he does not want to get re-married. So if you want to use that...we have been together 16 yrs but only married 7 of those yrs in the beginning.

sorry got interrupted in between.I got married when I was 21 year old and my hubby was 29. ours was a love match but i feel marriage needs adjustments and has nothing tpo do with early or late age. Infact when youare young you are more adapting later on you develop more fixed opinions and have difficulty adjusting to new lifestyles.

I was 18 when I married for the first time and he was 22. We dated for 4 years before we tied the knot and the marriage lasted 3.5 years. I wanted a baby so bad and gave birth to a son 2 years after the big day. I somehow figured that a child would magically fix all of our problems. What a misconception! I tried again a few years later with basically the same results. The split was caused by different reasons but it happened anyway. I think that if I had been older the first time, I would have been a little wiser and would probably have stuck it out longer.

We have been married for 3 years. I was 20 and he was 28. We are doing very well still. I don't think that age matters. I think its about being "in" love, respecting eachother, being honest with eachother, trusting eachother, and being friends. Yes you can use what I said here for your paper.
