Sorry to steal your idea Syndibee, it was just too good to pass up! So today I went running at the track, 4.5 miles. My ankles are finally doing really good. One ankle was a tiny bit sore at the end, but not bad. The group was doing some speed work to try to increase speeds for the upcoming 5K (still about a month away). I am now thinking I'm getting close to really wanting to take out the inserts on my Nike Free shoes. But first I'm going to let my ankles heal fully and completely. Maybe after the 5K I'll take out the inserts. Overall, I felt today went pretty well. I was near the back most of the time, but I was beating my old times. I am running the quarter mile in about 2 minutes and 15 seconds now, and that's not with trying to go all out just for a quarter mile, but trying to keep a pace that I could go at for longer but won't actually have to for the speed work. So I thought that was pretty good. Running like crazy to do the 1/8th mile I did it in 58 seconds. But I wouldn't be able to keep up that pace for any longer than that. Oh, and I even met another person biking the upcoming marathon!

I'm glad that someone believes in me! Right now I couldn't even imagine myself running a marathon. But I might shoot for a 10K at the end of November. So far I haven't found any running books on audio. I think eventually I'll just buy one that isn't audio, but this is more difficult since I will probably have to have a friend read a lot of it for me. One of my friends is interested in running though, so maybe it won't be a problem getting her to read.

I took my friend out running tonight and I may just have a reader! She had fun, even though she could barely run a quarter mile at a time for now... well, more like jog. But still, pretty good for a first timer! I only went 2 miles and then at the end (it was a cement trail), I turned my ankle the slightest bit. Not twisted, but it gave a tiny twinge of pain. So tonight I iced it and I am crossing my fingers it will be good still in the morning! No more running for me until next Tuesday. And then I'll do Thursday evening again too probably.

Wow your times sound good to me ,I think you could even try out for the olympics ,mund you ,you wouldnt win but you could place.I am also happy to hear that you are taking up your running again.I have been trying to get into a running mode myself but usually its running on the spot and I do that for about ten to twenty minutes .My running routine though is to get myself healthy .Thes last day I have found that I have been developing a nice little ,well not little ,tummy.

People who run the mile in the Olympics run the entire mile under 4 minutes. It sounds crazy to me too though! I have at least gotten under 2 minutes for the quarter mile now though. If you can run for 10 to 20 minutes, you are well on your way to being in great shape! You'll be running a 5K in no time if you wanted to. Or at least you'll be in shape. I haven't been able to lose my little belly, but I hope eventually it will go away.
