Can you have a yard sale during the week?

I have been meaning to have a yard sale for months now, but whenever I look at the weather it is not promising. But then the weekend turns out great or ok. Or I wake up tired and not motivated to put everything out. The only times it seems I am willing and ready to do a yard sale is on a weekday. What is the proper etiquette for yard sales? Can you have them during the week? What about during the summer? Or is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the ONLY proper days for yard sales?

i know what you mean. the summer is pretty short here in canada and this year, the weather has not been too co-operative. i know of people that live on a busy highway and have a week long garage sale. the key is, if you don't live on a busy street i dont think you will have too many people come just because of people's work schedules and what not.

Thanks Cher. Yeah, I am on a really busy street with a thrift store across the street. So I am guaranteed to get the bargain shoppers already. Also the rush hour traffic that is avoiding the highway drives by my house.

You could certainly have a yard sale during the week, the only trouble is.. you might not have any customers. The reason most yard/garage sales happen on the weekend is because that's when most people are out looking for a yard sale and have the time to be out because of work constraints. You can certainly give it a try though, and if you're in a central enough area, your signage might be enough to entice the retired or unemployed into coming and browsing.

Thank you very much for your answer. I do live right across the street from Salvation Army, which is another concern of mine. I always wonder if I am intruding on their customers by selling at my house ;) I know it's strange, but I feel bad.
