Hey, I think that the best Operating system out of Windows XP and Vista for gaming would have to be Windows XP. For some reason Vista doesn't run games that fast, probably because it eats up all of my RAM. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

my friend i always prefer windows xp. although windows 7 is very good but i have seen that being a beta version it has some small problems with grpahics of the game. but windows xp i personally feel is the best os for any kind of work. game, computing anything. and more over vista is so slow. i mean once i was working on word and the computer just froze for some reason that i dont know and that's it. i had to hard reboot my system

Vista has beutiful features. Microsoft added lot of enhancements and new technologies in it. For exaample ready boost, aero technology etc. I have noticed that Vista is slow when it compared to Xp. Microsoft has understood why Vista was a flop show and keeping that in mind, they revised and refined the new OS Windows 7. It is fast and very user friendly. It is safe more stable. I have used. The problem in using XP is that they will stop supporting the OS. That will make your systems unstable. Also new games will also use the newer technologies. So i suggest to go for Windows 7.

I'd say definitely XP is better.Vista might be more user-friendly but XP does a better job(at games especially)than Vista and consumes less of our resources.Sadly more and more games seem to work only for Vista and beyond.

it depends. now a days most games you "have" to run it on vista. but i would say XP because it doesn't ask so much of your rig to just run idle. just imagine the resources it would need to give you stunning graphics and smooth play.

Aah I have used both XP and Vista. And you can rest assured that XP is certainly better for gaming. If you have Vista, you need more RAM for playing a certain game than you'd need if you had XP. So I'd say XP is anytime better. And if you are a software guy who likes to explore new things, then I'd suggest you windows 7...

Up until now, the real challenge to XP's performance is the upcoming Windows 7, never mind Vista, as I've read in some discussions there's always an "expected" 20% decrease in performance when you run games in Vista, DX10 is supposed to add extra kick in eye-candies, but most of the games- even those that are designed to run on Vista perfectly runs- faster and almost identical in quality, on DX9 of XP.... The verdict really depends on how powerful your PC as whole, for entry-level PCs (XP is best) for mid-level (XP is best) and for high-end and enthusiast-class (Vista is better)............ Note: Vista runs faster as you use it, thanks to Superfetch
