If you have a spam filter you could throw the addresses on there. That helps me cut back on the amount of unwanted mail I get. Also, if you're getting emails from companies you've done business with and they send unwanted emails, usually at the bottom of the email is some sort of unsubscribe link. Taking yourself of emailing lists like that helps, too.

I have a Spam guard on my e-mail, and I use it for all unsolicited e-mails. To keep myself from getting on too many unsolicited mailing lists, when I take a survey or something, I have a special e-mail address set up specifically for that, so if they sell that address, it won't interfere with my main e-mail.

If you have more unwanted emails than the valid one then use the filter the other way around. Filter what you need and move it to a separate folder, like have folder to friends/office/relative/acquaintances. If you are using POP client its much easier there, for a web mail that I think is MI.

I think u can be making use of the spam filter in your account, to sort out those unwanted mails.. hehe ^_^ Or the easiest thing will be, using different email account for different purposes.. haha =D Such as online things or mylot, belong to one account, then formal business and personal things, with respective accounts..
IN a way, it's much cleaer.. ANd if u are unsure of certain sites, use that email which are meant to be 'dirtied', and thus u will save yourself alot of time from those spam mails in the actual accounts.. hehe
