How to get rid of shyness and gain self confidence? Some people are very shy and cannot speak properly with others due to this. Do they have some kind of inferiority complex? Are you also a shy type? Give your comments and views on this.

I consider myself a shy person, I don't really know what is the reason why I would rather sit quietly in a corner than move around and talk to people. I have tried several times to improve myself and be more people-oriented but then I would slowly slip back into my shell especially when I face disappointments and frustrations. I am not usually the type to start conversations though I would respond to someone who would like to start one. I think I am more of a listener than a talker.

I agree. What matters is that you should always try to over come that and rest all is ok. Facing disappointments, frustrations, etc. are all part of our human life.

gaining confidence and getting rid of shyness requires a change in the mind set. some people are shy by nature but it does not mean they lack self confidence. a few ways to attain self confidence are: 1. impove your communication skills so that you are able to effectively communicate what is in your mind. 2. imporve your knowledge base so that when people talk about something you know about the subject and you can have ideas to share. 3. develop your personality, adopt proper manners, adopt the soft skills. 4. get rid of the thought that you are not capable. say to yoruself that you can do things that others can do 5. when you have knowledge, and when you can communicate, when you have the power of presentation then there is no reason why you should feel shy or why you need to have low sef confidence. i don't have any kind of inferiority complex and i don't have low self confidence also. i had developed a low self confidence and i had become very shy when i was in school. in school i was suppressed many a times by teachers and students because of which i was in this situation. but as time passed and i started growing up, i reasiled that it is only me who break my shell and it is only me who would be able to get rid of my complex. so i did and i am proud to say that i am confident enough to handle things and situations.

yes i am basically shy but i dont shy away from speaking to people... i read a lot of books on how to kill shyness and i think i have managed to improve a bit.. The best way to shun shyness is to mentally think that ur not shy and behave so. Just imagine withing urself that ur bold and courageous. this will bring the necessary change in ourselves...tx
