I know how to use the typewriter way back in high school and when I had my on-the- job training back then. But now I no longer use it because of the computer. I know some government offices in our country who still use it like our local post office.

hi janebeth!^^ yeah, even with the computer, i still know how to use a typewriter. i used to do a lot of typing before when i was still in school, but during vacation. i was typing some stories i created. ^^;; so i had a lot of typing experience which was helpful when i started using a computer. i don't use a typewriter at home nowadays but we still do at the office. there are office forms that are not transferred into the computer and printed out to the printer because it's expensive, or so they say.^^

Yes while in high school back in the seventies I learned how to type on a typewriter and I'm so grateful for this. I love to type I just wish I could find a job working from home where I could type papers for people or stories for them. Its a joy to be able to type.

This generation and mostly the coming one's would never be aware of a type writer due to the influence of the computer and the keyboard, this newer form of technology also has been suited to all, it doesn't require paper, nor ink nor the typing has to be done once gain on committing mistakes.

yes I know how to use a typewriter. I use to have one as a kid. It is funny seeing them in museums now. As it makes me feel old. Using a typewriter is really simple to do. I like owning a typewriter. They do come in handy to type things up to look nice. but computers have so many more options and colors you can use.

Of course I know how to use them, its not that old, I mean computers became famous here only in the 90s, so I learnt how to use a typewriter before that and I actually liked it very much, since I know how to use the typewriter, its actually easy to type using a computer keyboard also.....

Typewriter!! That's so old school!! hehe ^_^ And that's the mother of our current keyboards now.. haha =D I have never tried using it because it was no longer popular after the mid 1990s.. hehe ^_^ I have seen those typewriters in movies, and i find them interesting.. haha =D Especially the sound coming out from it, and how one always ended up throwing the whole piece of paper away, with very single typo error.. lol =D

yeah. we still use typewriters at the office. most government offices here still use typewriters. it's not that easy to shift from traditional type of forms to computerized forms. ^^ at least they find it hard. and impractical. by using typewriter, they think it is much cheaper.

lol =D I guess it's time to upgrade.. Imagine how much time one is gonna waste if there are too many mistakes in a page?? And it's ok to be 'deleting' some letters, but what happens when it's too untidy, and being rejected?? hehe

No i have never used type writer but i have seen many people using it . here i n india, there are many government jobs are avilable for those who know how to type with type writer but i think its pretty outdated. typewriter cant even do 1% of what computer do. but it has its own advantageslike itr cheap and doesn't need electricity.

I also could use a typewriter but now there are more and more sophisticated computers are hard to find people who still use typewriter more environmentally friendly and energy efficient, but if you see the quality and speed of typing machines have fallen far behind the computer

Glad to know that you know how to use typewriters as these days most people are now even aware about typewriters. I also know how to type on typewriter and it was one of my major subjects while doing my course in secretarial practices. There were three exams while learning typing and I am proud to say that I qualified all the three exams with top position and my name was on the college notice board for a period of ten years. After completing my course I joined service on the basis of my secretarial qualifications way back in 1981 and at that time there were no computers and only typewriters. Now I am trying to teach my nine years old son to learn typing as it will help him in increasing his speed on computers. But times have changed now. Though I used to enjoy typing, my son gets bored after typing two or three lines.

Hello janebeth Not that I was any good at it, I have been known to use a typewriter every now and again, if I had to choose I would rather type via computer as oppose to an old change the ribbon every now and then, move the thingy to get to the next line typewriter lol Computers make typing so much fun, I still don't have the proper typing skills but I am pretty good I guess

Yes, I know how to type. Typing was one of my favorite classes back in highschool. I also knew and loved shorthand. I used to practice my shorthand by taking down lyrics of songs off from the radio. couldn't possibly do it now tho. My first job after highschool was in an office and that is what I did....I typed and I loved it. I had my own typewriter and often typed things at home as well.

Yes I used typewriter when I was in second year high school way back 1999 when I did a project and there is no computer in the province yet. We had computer subject since first year high school and that was my first time to saw a computer (1998) and it was Windows 98 for the Operating System. I was really amazed because it is easier to use than a typewriter. Anyway I am very thankful that I started using typewriter because I became faster in typing when I entered college than my usual classmates who never even tried using a typewriter. I have even tried using an electronic typewriter but to no printing extent. That electronic typewriter has no ink available from the market and the ink is only available abroad. I mean the typewriter ribbon. Anyway I enjoyed the old days where there are typewriter. But I am more thankful that there are computers. They made life easier and faster.

Yes, I can use a typewriter I learned when I was in high school. I still now have an electric typewriter but I do not use it seeing as I have a computer. I can remember when I was learning to use the typewriter how the keys seem hard to push. The changing of the ribbon was a little dirty because I would get ink on my fingers.

Hi janebeth Yes, I know how to use it! When I was child, my mom worked in home using her typewriter and sometimes I helped her, typed some words or just played with it. Typing in typed writer can stopped my cried at that time, and it's a fun memory for me. Now I'm busy with my school life and long time not touch typewriter. My mom still use it until now to type something in receipt. Of course, with all computers, laptop, PDA, etc,,typewriter start to disappear. Personally, I like its sound while typing

yes, i know how to use a typewriter. in fact typewriter is quite similar with keyboard, but you have to do a lot of adjustment with the paper, and type carefully, because if there's mistake u cannot backspace or delete. you have to put another paper and retype the whole thing again. i have an electric typewriter in my office. i'd also expirienced how to use mechanical typewriter..that was 20 years ago. he he

that was so awesome for you, you're so lucky because you tried them all.. and yes you can't delete it all the way, but you can erase it with the use of a liquid eraser but it is very dirty to look at it..
