Travelling without a ticket in the train.

I have a friend, who never buys a train ticket, when he travels by the local train. When I asked him, what will he do, if a ticket checker caught him. His answer was he will either bluff stating that he has lost the ticket or some other reason, otherwise he will pay the fine and continue to travel without buying the ticket. What do you think of these kind of persons.

I think he is addicted to some thrills like that.Even he will pay the fine but won't spare the money to buy a ticket......it is quite funny too.I can't encourage this idea.Better you don't accompany him in a train travel like that.He may bring you trouble.Cheers!

Then how do you consider a dangerous fellow a friend.People like him could do anything to satisfy their thrills. It is good for you to break his relationship in a gentle way.take care not to hurt him with wounding words.Just try to avoid him by giving less importance.Cheers!

I dont like such people and i have never done such things....they who do not care about thir own prestige can only do this...its very sad that they do and are also determined to do the same in future....in this way we are not only giving trouble to ourselves but also to those who are travelling with reservations days or months ago...so better be safe and comfortable yourself and let others also travel comfortably

i think those people who do such things are cheap and if not paying government should be boycotted by other people..its so becoz other people who buy tickets are not stupid enough to do the same thing. just thing if such things will be practised by many people then what will be the value of rules and what will be the use of ticket, anybody can walk up and idf caught says the same old reason. Its kind of stealing from someone who is the government here. such people should be punished so that other people should take lessons from this case and will not repeat this action again.

I agree with you, that this is nothing but stealing in another form. What to do, there are a number of people like this in India. Thanks for responding.

Dear friend, I hope it could be felt when your friend owns a railways and people in that do not take ticket, the loose goes to the owner. It is illegal and if everyone thinks so just think of the railways, they are providing us a good facility with a reasonable charge I hope we should not misuse such facilities it could give strict rules from their side if these practices increases.

I know that this guy is your "friend" but what he is doing is very illegal and he is cheating the system. Yes, we are probably all struggling on money right now and want to save it, and yes we do all want free transport. This guy will get caught soon. I mean how does he even get through the gates without having a ticket? I guess it depends on what country you live in..

I am not talking about the metro rail, I am talking about the regular olden days railway station, where there is only a big gate and there is no turnstile or anything like that, so anybody can pass through the gates with or without a ticket.

Your friend is really lucky then to be travelling by train without a ticket I have never ever done that in my live because first of all I am very afraid to be caught and secondly I will feel very ashame if other people will know that. He must be very carefree then to do not think about all the consequences he might face up with.

If the person knows he is doing a wrong thing against the law and when it is pointed out to him and still if he does not change then this person needs to be reported. I myself have been caught by railway authorities for travelling without a ticket, but in my case it was always a lapse or my negligence to check whether when my pass expires.
