Unemployment being near double digit figures, and incomes being extremely low, meaning people are not making as much money anymore, yet the cost of living remains at its very high level for this state.... Our lawmakers have come up with the perfect procedure to help the near bankrupt state budget to balance....

That's right, raise taxes state taxes AGAIN for the second time this year! That way the state budget will get more money!
What part of "you can't get blood out of a turnip" don't you looser-lawmakers understand!!!! If someone doesnt have an income... they dont' pay taxes - ergo, no income to the state! And those that have an income, because they now have to pay such high taxes, don't have anything left to spend on the economy, like groceries, clothings, things that make the economy grow and thrive. What little they have left is put into savings and items are not purchased. Ergo, a crash in the economy AGAIN.
And we all know these lawmakers that make these laws have such high salaries and state paid expense accounts that include nearly everything they do, it won't bother them much if at all. So they don't care. Thing is... the same ones are re-elected every single year...what part of "stupid, stupid, stupid" don't the California residents get?
Just thought I'd let y'all know that moving into California is not a good idea right now. I'd leave if I could, but I can't so ....talk about being stuck in the mud!!!!

Yeah, I just came back and couldn't believe how much the sales tax had gone up since we were away--less than a year! if food prices are any indication, the economy is at rock bottom down here, but ooooooh, the flavor of the locally grown produce? Outstanding! Remember when we used to have to pay taxes on food? Well, we are outside of the smog belt and so far they haven't figured out how to tax the bold California sunshine. I'm getting all of it I can before "winter" sets in. And those Southern California sunsets? Unequaled!

8.75% sales tax. Yep... it hurts. I got a toaster oven..on sale for $50 and when rung up... the total announced to me was $60! I was shocked and said.. "no that was on sale for $50" She said yeah, the rest is tax". I looked at the receipt and sure enough, $10 of sales tax!!!!
But I have to beg your difference on a California sunset.... I've traveled alot and there is absolutly NOTHING that can compare to a sunset in Arizona and New Mexico.... not in the cities, but out there "on the range" - headed west on INterstate 10 are the most amazing and unbelievable sunsets I have ever seen in my life. I have literally stopped driving and sat there and just watched that sunset from start to finish. It's like another world.
And the sunshine... today it was 100* - you can have it free of charge and I'll even pay the tax on it if you will take some of it away!!! Wild fires burning out of control near me and that made the air so much more dryer and hotter... please... take all you like!!!!

Hah! I just came back from Arizona and although I agree the sunsets there are wonderful, especially those pink and purple ones, the southern California sunsets just have that red-rubber-ball effect that I find special. But I'm on the Arizona side of California, so that may make a difference.

Wasn't that a pathetic thing.. a yard sale... granted it helped, no haven't heard how it went, we get nothing but sports and inframercials during weekends, and with the wild fires out of control.....I haven't heard how the sale did.
But the pathetic thing is... the state had all that ton of stuff for so long...why did they waste so much money in the first place buying all that when they bought it? I saw it on the news, and literally everything look in near excellent condition!! ALl that stuff just means, that it has all been replaced (money spent) and all that stuff has been stored for who knows how long (money spent) and then the collaboration to put the sale together (money spent)....
