As some if you might know Amsterdam is one big mess at the moment. With all kind of new building projects it is impossible to move your *ss around here.
One of those building projects is the North/South metro line. Which connects the Northern side of Amsterdam with the southern. All very good for the tourism in Amsterdam in a decade or two zillion but at the moment tourists stay away, for Amsterdam is one big mess. Furthermore this metro line is so expensive that this projects costs each and every citizen of Amsterdam 4000 euros and counting.
The hilarious part of the whole story is that they've now lost some important documents on this project. What on earth is Amsterdam doing that they make such a complete mess of something which they've done before? The whole project consists of sunk costs. Which is a term that refers to the process that too much money has been invested so it would be better to continue the process rather than abort it...
I can't believe my ears... when I hear this all... but hey Holland want to screw us right? And they are on the dang right track to just overrun us with their stupidness... buha buha buha :/

Sounds like the Los Angeles subway. Took years longer than predicted, went way over budget, covered much less area than planned and the city is still taking the 1/2 cent sales tax increase that was voted in for it even though the project is long since finished. Typical government waste.

The government is making one mess of everything. Even the simplest projects turn out to cost more than calculated and are delayed. I wouldn't be surprised if people would go on a strike at one day trying to stop this nonsense.
Let's take another example. Since a while they have implemented a new payment system for the public transport sector. Which fails completely. The card is expensive, causes a lot of errors when checking in and out... etc... it's unbelievable...
