How many browsers do you open at one time?

Most internet users these days utilize the capacity of their bandwidth and their web browsers. The higher the bandwidth the faster the downloading speed. Plus if you open several web browsers at once you get internet surfing to the maximum. LOL. Me I just get to open one browser but with several ( 3 to 5) tabs. I often click on "open link in new tab" then I just keep on browsing the open tabs.

At the moment I have four browsers open, In one I am on facebook, one for this site, one for looking for flats and one for looking for a job. I usually have two plus as I like to look at several different things whilst online.

Ahm, do you play Farmville in Facebook? That's becoming very popular from where I am. Everybody here seems to be addicted to that Facebook application. Thank you for responding.

I usually only have one browser open at a time. Sometimes I have two but that's not often. I usually have at least 4-5 tabs open at a time... I often go up to like 15 tabs open at a time.

Wow, 15 tabs. That's a lot. I guess you go to a lot of sites when you go online and surf the web.

That's a good idea. Keeping the tabs open really is much better than getting back into the bookmark lists. Once you open your browser you can see the tab open up again.

Yea LOL. Instead of bookmarking a site I leave it open in a tab so I can remember to actually look at it instead of bookmarking and never looking back.

Sometimes I have 15 tabs open. I have even had 50 open before. I like to have the fewest open as possible though, because it does slow my pc down.

I try not to do 50 tabs too often. I like to keep it around 5 if I can but that's hard.

50 tabs? Whoa! That sure is a lot of tabs. I guess you surf a lot of sites too. I usually go up to 10 tabs only. More than that and my pc slows down. Once I opened the 10 tabs, I go back at them one at a time. After that I close the tabs immediately. LOL

Personally I favor Mozilla FireFox and I have favored it for years. It is my belief that Mozilla was the creator of tabbed browsing, instead of having several browsers at once. I don't like doing that cause it can clutter your task bar.

I open up to five instances of Firefox to make the surfing to faster. I try not to open more than that number as Firefox uses a lot of RAM, which slows down my PC. For some reason, I am not very comfortable with opening tabs. I guess its just that I am not used to it.

Yeah, Firefox does slow down a PC. Specially if you have a lot of plugins or add-ons installed in it. I also experienced Firefox crashing when I opened too much tabs and a crash report popped up.

I have two browsers open half the time, since mylotting is so much better on Opera. The number of tabs varies, but I can easily have a dozen or more tabs up when mylotting. Of course I've built a computer that can easily handle this and more.

At the moment I just have one browser open, with two tabs. I'm not a good multitasker, so I don't do too much! Happy Mylotting!

Some browers such as GreenBrowers could list the open tabs one by one within it. It seldom affects the speed when you open one while browsing other tabs.

Well, opening several tabs consumes some memory process in your pc. And also, opening several tabs consumes some bandwidth in your internet speed. Not necessarily slowing your speed but distributing the bandwidth on the newly opened tabs.

About four or five. I stay on Gmail and open tabs for Facebook, Friendster and a page where I check on world news and celebrity gossips. My connection is pretty much fast.

I only open one browser but with several tabs. We need to maximize the internet as we are paying every month lol. I wish i have a higher bandwidth so i can have a faster download speed. But at the moment i am not downloading because my housemates are also using the internet (wireless) so they are screaming at me in their room if they notice that the connection is slow hehe.

I usually open 3-4 tabs every time I open my browser. I would also like to extend up to 7 tabs if I'm doing a research of any kind. It depends on what you are doing on the net: surfing, chatting, email, blogging, and etc.

It all depends on what I am doing. I am a web and graphic designer so I have to test web pages on several different browsers so at those points I have 3 - 4 browsers open. I normally use Opera, which anyone who understands how processors work would use it, it has everything that any other browser has plus more and unlike Firefox you don't have to install 3rd party plug ins, they come installed already. Everything that Firefox supposedly leads the field in was designed first for opera. I have Opera open on average of 24 hours a day with a minimum of 25 tabs and anywhere up to 40 I would say. I have many sites that I have to keep an eye on or to stay logged in so that my accoutn will be recognized and many that I need to check on the status and if I closed them I would forget abotu them for too long so if I always have them opened I can keep checking them.

I usually use one brower at one time, but I always open up several tabs,at least 5.And there must be one for email. when I write some articles ,I always surf the internet to find some information, and the reason why I always open many tabs is that I will use all the information at same time. And sometimes when I do online shopping I always open up many tabs just because I need to compare the products.
