A Day In The Life...YOUR Life

August 27, 2009 8:17pm CST
Hi all. Most of us have a routine of sorts that defines our average day. For instance, I eat a very light breakfast, sit outside a bit and enjoy the start of the day, say a prayer, shower and dress. I check e-mail and do my online work, take a quick lunch break, and then juggle between my writing work and my housework. I try to lay down for a one hour rest in the afternoon, since I have a special health condition. In the evening, I cook dinner, enjoy the outdoors for a bit, and then visit MyLot. Before bedtime, I love to read, journal, knit, or just relax with some music. What about you? Would you describe an average day your own life? Thank you. Karen

Hello Peace. Aww, don't envy me. I have medical conditions that limit how active I can be, but I have learned to work around them, thank God, and do all that I can. I spend many hours each day writing articles and other things to earn and supplement my income online. But I enjoy it! Your life sounds very busy. What kind of work do you do? It makes for a long day, so I am glad that at the end of it, you get to do some relaxing before sleeping and then beginning again the next day! I hope the weekend is wonderful for you, and thank you for sharing your day Karen

My typical day is quite busy. I get up, drink a cup of coffee, shower, get dressed and ready to go, take the kids to school, go to work, pick the kids up, we deliver papers, then I come home, try to do some housework and cook dinner, then sit at my computer and do various things on-line to earn money until anout midnight, then, I try to read for about an hour before finally nodding off to sleep.

Hi Lynne. That is indeed a very busy day...you're on the go every minute! I am so glad to hear that you do try to read for a while before you sleep. It is perhaps and thing you do just for YOU, and I believe that the busier one is with work, family, and others, the more important it is that we set aside some piece of time in a day that is just for ourselves! Take care and have a great weekend. Karen

Hi Karen! Many thanks for sharing snippet of your day with us. You have quite a hectic schedule. It appears that you remain busy through out the day and you've lots of energy. As far as my days goes, I also get up very early in the morning, at around 5.30 a.m.. Then I go to fetch fresh milk and simultaneously go for my morning walk. When I return I keep helping my kids to prepare them for their schools. In the meantime, I also do my other activities to get ready for my office, e.g. shaving etc.. I attend to part time maidservant also who drops in between, supervising her work of cleaning utensils, moping and cleaning floors. I take bath and then go to my roof top to water my plants and I spend some time with my platns/flowers and it looks to me as they keep waiting for me to come and see them every morning (BTW, I wrote a short peom about my experience with my plants/flowers few days ago............here is the link: http://www.associatedcont... Thereafter, sometimes, I prepare my breakfast for me and my better half or she does it for me. We pack our lunch and then rush to office on bike. In office, it is cool. I do not have to face any external 'public dealing'. I spend my time in office, execute all the tasks, which are assigned to me and receiving telephone calls. I leave my office by 5.30 p.m or so and reach home by 6.30. Then I spend some time with my better half chatting with her about day's activities, while sipping a cup of tea/coffee along side her. Then I go to market to fetch any house-hold item or anything demanded by kids. Dinner is normally taken at 8.00 to 8.30 p.m.. Then we both go for our evening walk. I retire to bed by 10.00 or 10.30 and before retiring to bed, if I am not very tired, I watch some TV serial. However, my Saturdays and Sundays are off, so during weekend our routine changes and we go for outing/shopping and meeting someone and in between take plenty of rest. Deepak

Hello Deepak. The days do tend to be busy, yes, but it is usually a good kind of busy. Your days also seem very busy indeed, so many things to tend between family, work, and errands. I am glad you set aside time to spend with your flowers ( I did read your delightful poem and left you a comment on AC :) I think it is wonderful that you and your wife take time each day to converse and go for walks. And aren't weekends nice? A much different routine, which is good for us! Have a beautiful one this weekend, and thank you for sharing your day. Karen

Hello Karen! Thanks for appreciating my poem. Yes, weekdays are really busy for us, however, on weekends, we feel a bit relaxed and dispose of those tasks which remain pending during working days e.g. fetching groceries, vegetables and other daily need items. We sometimes go for a dinner outing on weekends. This way days of life get passed and one never comes to know that so many years of life has elapsed. Warm Hugs! Deepak

I do enjoy your poetry...it always leaves me with a warm feeling. Like you, I think weekends should be set apart, something special and different than the work days. I am curious. When I shop for food, it goes into the refrigerator or freezer, etc. It is different in India? I ask since you buy your fresh food anew each day, and I wish to learn more and more about the cultures in the world. Warm hugs to you in return... Karen

My days are not very exciting but i am thankful for each one of them. I get up, make me some coffee & come to mylot. I don't usualyy feel real good in the morns so i spend the biggest part of it on mylot. In between i take a shower, make up my bed, don't usually eat any breakfast till up in the morn, swallow all those pills i have to take, read my paper, take the garbage out,do whatever i need to get this show on the road. lol.I do more housework in the afternoons, play on mylot when i need to sit down & rest awhile, fix me some supper later on, run any errands i have to & it has to be a have to case, like to read, listen to the radio alot & sometimes tv at night. As i said very boring nothing excitng much goes on at my house.

The past weekend was slow and lazy...chilly and a lot of rain, so it was a good time to stay inside and catch up on things in here. Today, however, was beautiful and sunny, so I got out to putter around with my plants and do some shopping for the week. Sleep well! Karen

Hello dear friend. The days do become more and more precious with each year, yes? Ack! I also have to take pills several times a day, as though it were a chore, which it has come to be lol. Your days sound busy, though, and hey, I get excited if a hummingbird hovers on the patio near my face or if a chipmunk tail sails past the ground level basement windows of my apartment lol. But, I do find a joy in the simple every day things. They are our blessings. Have a happy weekend, and thank you for sharing your day! Karen

Hello Aerous. So nice to hear from you :) It is good that you makes the notes to plan out your next day...it keeps things a bit more organized and helps us remember what we need to do. Reading before bed...I do that, as well. I find it a great way to relax before sleep. Have a nice day tomorrow, and thank you for responding. Karen

I create a group name "peace advocates" in friendster and Tagged. But seems that there is no Interested for joining so I decide to delete it. I create also a group in "peace advocates" in apsense, directmatches but no one is interested. So I decide to delete it also. I create again in one of the social network called ezihippo (but now the sites is not existed) no one is interested to join. I create a group about money seems that in one there are many to join. I don't know people not interested that particular words.... Me too karen, I like peace to in every place I don't like violence because as I see in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, and Africa. More children being a victim or more innocent people is victims. They don't do anything harm for those people that killed them. War is not the solution for making peace but give them a little food to eat for them not think on how live in ferocious methods to live with. I can't help because I am alone. I know no one will hear me but at least I will say what is in mind about violence and peace. You know karen. If I have sufficient money or If I will be the rich. I will make sure to help poor people in our place. I don't like to see them in the street and ask for a little penny to live. I know that is not the solutions for them to live with dignity. They jobs, and place to make living, a place to build their own home. But unfortunately I have no money and not success in business I establish then. That will be purpose if the business is successful enough. I think this is not the place to tell all my dreams in life to you. Please pardon me for being emotional about things happen to our society. Thanks for being my good friends of mind. have a nice day and do hope more blessings to come to you. take care

Yes Aerous, I am very much an advocate for peace. I don't know which social site your directory is on. I do belong to several sites that advocate peace as their theme, since I believe that many united for a cause can do more than one alone...although even one alone can do something. Thank you for your kind remarks about the blogs. Karen

Hey, Well I actually have average days every single day of my life, nothing really good happens to me. I don't really think that anything else good is going to happen to me in the future, hopefully I will have some days to remember. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

Good morning to you. Hm, I am sure that some wonderful things or unusual things have happened in your life if you think back on it enough...and they are bound to happen in times ahead! One of the positive things about average days is that if nothing that stands out as extra good happens, so too has nothing bad happened :) Be hopeful, and have a lovely weekend coming up. Karen

Well my days are far from boring. I start out with having my kids drag me out of bed at the ungodly hour of around 7am, then we all go downstairs. I usually put the girls in the livingroom with something to watch while I go to cook breakfast for us all. Then I usually spend a little while cleaning up the mess in the kitchen and living room before making my husband's lunch to take to work. Once that is all finished I usually make a coffee which I drink at about the speed of light before starting the laundry and cleaning anything else in the house that gets messed up. Usually it takes me about an hour to clean the downstairs and it takes my children all of ten minutes to mess it back up. I usually give them some crafts to do while I am cooking lunch at which point I then make another coffee. Once lunch is served I then take the time to switch loads of laundry and get dinner's ingredients out of the freezer. Once the girls have finished eating lunch, I usually clean up the livingroom and kitchen again before starting dinner. Then it is time to see my husband off to work and switch loads yet again. It is usually around this time that I fold all the laundry that I have washed and put it away, while cooking dinner. Then I feed the pets their dinner, the girls thier's and try to eat something myself. Then it's time to continue with the laudnry and cleaning, play with the kids and watch a movie before bedtime. Then we take a bath, brush our teeth and get ready for sleepy time. Sleepy time consists of getting changed into our Pj's and brushing our teeth. Then we get to read two stories, three lulabys and then time for sleep. Once the kids are alseep I then clean up the mess from dinner as well as put away any toys that the girls have left out before grabbing all the laundry, switching loads, putting away the clothes and locking up for the night. All this is a very normal day and I find that there is little time for anything else. I rarely get to come on mylot anymore which I am hoping will change once my oldest goes to school next year,LOL. Hope that answers any questions you have about my day,LOL.

Hi Crivas...lol. I remember those days so well. Kids are never boring and the work and tears and fun never end...until everyone is finally asleep! Love those days and those kiddos to pieces, for they fly by at warp speed! But...if blessed enough, you then get to enjoy grandbabies, and those go home with their parents lol. Have a beautiful weekend and thank you for sharing your busy day with us. Karen

Hi Karen, I just wrote to you. My average day right now is very hectic. That's because I am trying to keep myself as busy as possible to avoid thinking about the divorce that I am going through. I wake up early and take a shower. I enjoy drinking my milk with biscuits and cookies. Then I get to work on My Crochet. I weave different doilies or table covers and sell them, for I cannot take up a job right now because of my court case. I spend some time on my case papers and work on them. I still manage to find time to write to sweet people like you on my lot because I find it a great way to unwind. I keep going back to my crochet every now and then for I enjoy it a great deal besides earning money from it. I go to bed by 10pm after watching TV. So thats my day. How about it!

Hello Mohin...yes, you did :) I am glad to see you on this discussion, as well. Ack! I have been through a divorce a few years ago after a long and difficult marriage...so detrimental was it! I do feel for you, and wish you well. I came through fine and am very happy now, so I hope that for you, as well. Keeping busy does help. Doilies and intricate table clothes are so beautiful. I love knitting and crocheting, but I make scarves and hats mostly. I am glad you find MyLot relaxing and I am also glad to have met you here! I hope we speak in our discussions often. Do take care and keep up your hope! Karen

Hi! For me I wake up either 6-7 in the morning. I cook breakfast not only for me but also for my 3 siblings. I drink hot green tea then i take a bath, grooming and go to my MT training.I'm there from 8am up to 5 in the afternoon. If i dont have the training, im just staying at home, doing errands, cuddling our cat "MUtya" and watching my favorite local TV programs. Then i cook lunch again and watch TV. in the afternoon, I sleep for 3 hours then wake up, read something or go to the internet. I love visiting sites like Twitter, facebook, myspace, myLOt , yahoo and jobstreet. Aftert that iwatch again tv and cook for dinner. Then go upstairs to listen to my favourite music in my phone or read books then sleep at 10 or 11pm. That's my regular routine! Hope you understand.. Just Kidding!

Hello Jrw. So you are a student, yes? And it sounds as though along with that you have many other activities you enjoy. I think variety adds a lot to our learning and to our interest in life and people. Thank you for sharing your typical day, and have a good weekend. Karen
