Is anyone here a serious couponer? I watched an Oprah show where one woman saves hundreds at the cash register by clever combining - store sales, and double coupon days. Sometimes her bill is 0! She creates her weeks list from coupons and sale ads. Some serious couponers go to various stores during the week depending on sales and double - and triple coupon days.
What about you - are you a couponer?

We have to pay as well, but sometimes if a particular store is having a sale and you have a coupon it turns out free -- combining both discounts. There are people who spend hours figuring all this out for their household as well as other ways to save money - hanging clothes up, washing out those little plastic baggies you put sandwiches in etc...Its almost like having a second job, the time it takes but with the money you save - its also like gaining that income as well.
BTW, thanks for participating in my discussion, I love hearing about other people and their lives!
How many grocery store chains does your city have?

BTW,my mom has been to India and the nearby country/island Sri Lanka for work many many years ago and she loves it there. She helped with WID - Women in Development in India and i think Sri Lanka...the artists in your country are amazing. Even though most people think of Engineers when they think of India. She was surrounded by them as she worked for an engineering firm - which was Indian owned.

Sometimes I am. Sometimes do pretty well. Manufacturer's coupons, used when coupons are tripled or when the store has the item on sale, gets you big cuts in price. But I am careful about coupons, too. Often I take the coupon to the store, only to find a competing brand is chepaer even with the coupon. They do not always save you money, you still have to look.

Yes you are so smart. I also find the items on the lower shelves - not eye level are cheaper.

I used to use them more......right now while I am alone I don't use as many but many years ago when the kids were all still home I used alot of them...one year I saved all my reciepts and had saved over $600.00 in one year! That's alot of bucks when you are struggling to raise three kids by yourself!

Part time deal hunter but I'm just getting into using coupons more frequently. Usually the paper helps out, but there are times the coupons are absolutely worthless.

This is true, I search online to match up with store sales so things are under a dollar or free. Otherwise I compare the coupon deal with store brand or other brands. Good to see a guy doing this too and yes - I know now you'll write ime up in one of your girl/guy conversations

I'm not much of a couponer - but recently, due to these tough economic times, I've been more concerned with coupons and discounts. My brother is a HUGE couponer. He clips everything - even those that he doesn't use. I do know that they are a big help - but sometimes, you tend to buy what you don't need just because you got a discount from a coupon.
