Just think, if your country allows you to marry any number of woman, legally, how many times will you marry? Will you like to stay with all your wives in one house and would you like to keep them seperate. Does it sound interesting. Your responses.

One, two, or four. I won't bother with the qualifier "if I can support them", because I'm a Westerner who supports female independence, and I would expect my wives to contribute to the family wealth, for all our sakes. I have no need to cloister them away from other men's sight, I have enough self-confidence to trust them out alone and uncovered lol. I have lived this way with 2 unofficial wives, unofficial because it is not legal in my country to properly marry more than one at a time. It worked well, but there was too large an age difference between "wife" one and I and "wife" 2, and she moved on, with my blessing. Definitely one house, it's simply too impractical otherwise. Lash

Ah grandpa_lash, how are you? Responding after a long time. I really appreciate your self confidence, to trust them all alone and that too uncovered. I do not have that kind of guts. You are a lucky guy who had two unofficial wives. Nice to see that it worked. Thanks for the response.

Mine is such a different culture to yours, that the trusting them is very easy, and quite normal. For us, even if one strayed a little, that is no big thing unless it happens more than once or twice. Lash

Of course, I have read about these things in the books. But in our culture, if the womans strays even once, that is the end of the marriage. It is not that these things do not happen. They happen in secret, and when the husband or the lover knows about it. Kaput.

Sanjana, be careful, the younger ones always take the cake and the cream also.So even if you are the first, the youngest one will become the chief wife.

For an Indian, you are quite bold. Well if your husband is a Millionaire, I think all your dreams will come true. You are quite selfish also, you want three nights with him and the other 2 has to make out with the remaining 4.

in my religion, keeping more than one wife legally is allowed and so we dont have to think about much on this topic. I can marry many women but their responsibility of daily uses will be mine. I would marry 2 wives as one is enough to tolerate, moreover only 2 , i can tolerate and i will treat them both equal in all respects whether money or love. I will keep them in the same house as it would be easier for me to handle them at times. I would rather divide my time between them so that they would not consider me a diacriminate.

actually i would convince them that i treat both of them the same and they do not have the power to deny the truth. So better live with peace without making any disturbance to each other.

Ah, coolcat123, so you want to marry twice and have two wives in the same house. You do not know, what is problems and troubles which you are going to face, if you are going to have two wives in the same house. I have seen people with two wives in the same house, suffering because of the regular fights between the two wives. Thanks for the response.

Hmmm if a husband can have more than one wife then the same should be true for women to have more than one husband if she chooses. I have heard that this has been the case in some countries. Personally I have no interest in having more than one but I have no problems with my partner having more than one as long as I am primary. In such a situation it would be best if the women are friends with each other for harmony in the house. We tried it for a while but the younger one decided to move out. It requires complete lack of jealousy on the part of the women to work properly.

Thanks for the response sharra1.Responding to my discussion after a long time. How are you. If the law allows the man to have more than one wife, they must also allow the woman to have more than one husband. But will the men allow their wives to have more than one husband is the million dolor question. For ages,it has been only men, who had more than one wife and not the other way around.Even with you it has been like that.Of course I know a family, where the wife has two husbands, but that is another story.

Yes it is rare but I have heard that in some countries, such as Nepal, a woman will marry two brothers to prevent the land being split between them. This way the land stays in a viable amount to feed the family. If the brothers took half each and then split more with their children there would not be enough land to feed anyone. Personally I am quite happy with one man, he meets all my needs. If I were not married then it would be a different situation. I think that any man who wants more than one wife or lover but refuses to permit the woman to have more than one partner is a hypocrite and I have no time for hypocrites. The reason why women have traditionally been banned from having more than one partner was the risk of pregnancy. When children inherited from their mother and not their father there were no restrictions on the woman's sexuality. It is only patriarchy and the obsession by men of making sure the child is theirs that causes the repression of women. After all we always know who the mother is but only a modern dna test can determine who the father really is. I think it was a sad day for women when men started obsessing about this.

just one will do. but if my heart opens up for someone else and if the current wife agrees that i take a second or third or fourth, then I may do so PROVIDED that I'm to able to treat them fairly and equally to all.
