Do you drink energy drinks?

Years ago I gave up coffee and after a year of going without, I gave it a try when I was really tired one morning. Yuck! What did I ever see in it? So on mornings I felt really groggy I used to go pick up a can of (sugar-Free) energy drink like Red Bull, Rockstar or Monster and it was enough to get me picked up and into a groove that generally lasted all day. I cut them out of my diet about 8 months ago, but still use them periodically when I'm feeling really tired, unfocused and disinterested. Like today! How about you? What is your favorite?

I've never actually had an energy drink before. I'd rather avoid them and just drink a lot of soda. That's my definite problem. However, the one thing that I have had before was energy gum. That stuff isn't half bad and it does perk me up sometimes. I haven't chewed any in awhile but it's pretty easy to find at stores like Sheetz and if I need a pick me up, I grab a pack of the gum and just chew it. It's easier to use whenever you've got a lot to do and can't get to coffee or other drinks so easily.

Hey! I never heard of that and now wanna look into that kind of gum . Be good for me to give me that extra push and perk when I am on the track . Sometimes, drinking a drink down fast makes me feel way too sick and full.

hey there. I unfortunately drink a lot of coffee and am trying to cut down. I really cant operate effectively without two cups in the morning, I even get headaches if I dont have it. I do sometimes drink redbull to pick me up if I am especially tired but find it is too sweet for my taste. Even better to mix it with a little vodka. hahaha

*LOL* I've done that before. Woah, what a night! :) I used to be pretty dependant on coffee, too. I found when I gave it up, the caffeine headaches lasted less than 2 weeks and then there were literally no cravings anymore. I wish quitting smoking was that easy!

Hey there. Maybe I should try giving up a little harder. Invest in some paracetamol and wait for the cravings to stop!!! Funny as I used to smoke and gave that up really easily. I smoked for about 6 years and just decided one day to give it up and never craved it. Wierd hey!!

I do need to stop and maybe the decaff way will be less of a shock to the system. Try and con my body into thinking its getting its caffine hit!!! I didnt think I had an addictive personality as never had an addiction but thinking about it I am def addicted to coffee!! Oopps. Smoking too is def something you need to give up. Have you tried the patches? Not sure how good they are. Sounds as though you associate it with certain times of the day so need to substitute ciggie breaks with something else. I wish you luck!!

I've tried them and they do work! They don't taste as good as coffee or soda (pop) do to me. I think they're overpriced, though and unlike coffee, I can't make my own at home! I drink red bull when I'm drinking jager. My son likes monster. I've read before that kids are drinking more and more of these energy drinks and it's causing heart problems if you drink massive amounts of energy drinks and if you drink them too fast....

No, I've never tasted those drinks. My 21yo son occasionally drinks them - but there has been a lot of publicity lately in Australia about the bad effects these drinks have on young people, with them overdosing on caffeine, etc. They probably have their place, as you mention - but it's not a great idea for people to be swilling them down several times a day!

I only drink coffee when I am really really tired! I don't actually like the flavour of coffee very much to be honest, and my morning drink is usually tea. I prefer the flavour of tea but it doesn't quite have the same kick as coffee does when I need one! I have noticed though that the more coffee I do drink, the more I like the flavour. I suppose it must be an acquired taste.

I think it definitely is an acquired taste. I'm a tea drinker, too. My friend and I used to go for coffee/tea every weekday night after work as a way of unwinding and catching up, but she gave up coffee and I gave up tea and we never go anymore. *LOL*

My 'catch-up' drink is usually hot chocolate! Maybe you could have that instead?

Hi there and smile. I tried energy drink before and it really made me energetic and strong for the given period. But it was like it is a fake energy, my body system is already tired and it keeps me alive working though. I also experienced fast heart palpitations so i stopped. I just like my coffee for now. Happy mylotting and smile always!

Hello! For the most part I will try and drink the Sugar free ones and ones that are less calories. Red Bull Sugar Free I have drank along with a few other that are made along the same way. There is this one I cant remember what the name is of it maybe it is monster and it comes in a green can and it almost taste like Mountian Dew I like that one but for the whole can its like 240 cals but it works . I think its Amp that sounds right . I usually drink them when I have a big work out or hit that wall . Sometimes it is just what I need as well to give the extra push on the track . So, I might drink like 5 a month I dont see myself ever doing one daily.

Oh I just love those energy drinks! I'm a regular cyclist and so I guess I have come to rely on them now! I love the Mars milk drinks, they have created a version that has lots of energy and vitamins that enable you to continue exercising. These drinks tend to be quite expensive though so I tend to use them sparingly. I used to drink Red Bull but I'm not that keen on the taste of this particular drink. I also remember that drink called Nourishment! Do you remember that one? This is really quite old now and has gone out of fashion I think! Andrew

a year ago, i used to drink red bull but i think its not really good for me because I have felt palpitations and excessive sweating. And right now, i'm just drinking coffee. But my problem with coffee i have experienced tolerance and the rebound effect of it. That's why. beware.

I drink them, but I've actually cut back considerably. NOS is my energy poison of choice but I'll also get Shockwave, Volt or Monster. Red bull of course is a classic and from time to time I'll get one just for the heck of it.

Hello breepeace, The thing is, I dont take this energy drinks. I just dont believe in them. What's more important to me is to get enough rest because without it, no matter how many bottles of energy drinks I consume wont be sufficient. I am not a coffee drinker too. I like hot chocolate though. I can drink it day and nite. Yummy..

Even though I know they are not good for you, I am addicted to energy drinks. I love red bull and monster, and have red bull on a daily basis. I cannot get enough of it and it's defiantly my favorite drink!

I drink energy once awhile, usually redbull or monster. To me, they don't really help much when I'm tired, but I still drink them every once awhile like other drinks (pepsi, coke,etc..). Coffee seem to work better for me.
