I am terrified of arachnids. Spiders are my mortal enemy. Spiders are evil..... I am so totally an arachnophobe. I want my daddy. The company I work for is currently moving the office to a new location. The office is located on an acreage. A nice idyllic location in the country with dogs, cats, goats, horses and....... SPIDERS!!!!!!! Freakin daddy longlegs. I walked into my new office and the nightmare began. They are everywhere. The walls, the floor, the roof, the closet, my desk!!?!!??! Did I mention I want my daddy? Sure sure, laugh it up, another girl scare of spiders. Have you ever had a near miss when driving your car? Where you are sure you're done for and brace for impact? You know how after your heart is racing a mile a minute and your hands are shaking and you can't quite seem to catch your breath? That's how I react when I see a spider. My fight or flight response is telling me to "run forrest, run!" Daddy? How am I to work for 8 hours in that state? Oy. Have you ever been in a situation where you were forced to confront your fear? Anyone got advise on how to kill a spider with out getting closer than 10 feet? Anyone want to come to work with me and kill spiders? I'll pay good. Promise!

I'm only laughing because I would have quit my job unless the boss took care of it. LOL You can buy home defense and it sprays far and really does a great job. Man, I feel for you. TOTALLY HATE them too. Don't know how you can even go to work. Like I said I would have quit unless someone took care of them.

I think I would have already had one! YUCK! If one crawled across you I would have thought you would have gotten over your fright. I think I would have smacked myself silly, seriously. I hate them. UGH. I am shivering just thinking about it. I was chased around a room by one but what made it funny was we were both trying to find a way out and I was looking at houses to buy. I almost ran over the realtor on my way downstairs. She asked if I wanted her to kill it, but I told her he was there first so he could have it. As big as that spider was there was no way I would believe she killed it. LOL

It was actually pretty funny to watch, except the spider's body was about three or four inch radius. I was horrified at even stepping back into that house. LOL

Hi FFFrocks, surely you exaggerate the amount of spiders in your work place, there's probably just one keeps moving around. Aren't there any men working there? They ought to come to your rescue and kill them for you, I would protest loudly their lack of good manners if they don't. Just imagine if one of them landed on you - spider not male co-worker. I don't like some varieties of spiders as we have some nasty ones around that bite or scuttle too fast, but I find a shoe the most effective method of dealing with them, or a man as first choice then I don't need to get so near. Having said all that I keep two pet spiders in my house these days and worry constantly that something could eat them. They are my weapon against mosquitoes and I exchange greetings with them every day, but they never scuttle and stay in one place.

I can get a bit melodramatic when spiders are involved and I wish I was exaggerating. I paid my bosses son a dollar a spider to clean out the office for me yesterday and ended up handing over 15 dollars. There are men at work and I plan on taking full advantage of their spider wrangling talents! The only problem is that I dispatch them all out for the day so after an hour or so in the mornings I'm mostly on my own. I totally understand your scuttling comment too, I don't know why but the creep factor seems to more than double the minute a spider starts to move.

Hello my friend, long time no hear, I hope you are ok, oops silly question a little spider problem, well bring them over here, I like them and encourage them into the house, they live with me rent free on the proviso that they eat the damn flies and mosquitoes which are bugging me! Although having said that if they bite I will retract my invite quickly! I go into a state of panic and shock if I am confronted with wasp or worse wasps, I run, believe me I run! Mind you one sting from those evil critters could prove fatal to this wolf as I am highly allergic to them. Sorry I can't offer advice to kill them, although water works well but I dare say that isn't an option in your case. Or you could always find something that eats spiders for breakfast!

Hello dear wolfie. Things are well excepting the spider issue of course. I've been busy! Tell you what. You come here and take all my spiders home with you and set up a spider condo in your home and I'll go there and take all your wasps away for you. Team work, no? What do you say, deal? Be my hero.... I'm going to have a talk with the boss today and see if we can't come up with a solution. I'm kind of embarrassed by this but what can I do? Still want my daddy....

I'll play daddy then and come to your rescue, I hope the spiders are well trained and know how to trap and eat mosquitoes, because our spiders here seem to lack that training and don't seem able to catch the critters. Perfect swap I think ;0)

I'm gonna hold you to that! I'm okay with mosquitos, for some reason they don't make me itch at all. Never have. I eagerly await your arrival and the heroics that will follow!

I do not like spiders at all! And having a bunch of them at work.. I think I'd end up calling in or asking my boss if I can work from home. They really get to me and I usually end up just staring them down until my hubby gets home from work. ANd yes I do freak out that bad. I would have left if I had a car but I didn't.. I've even gotten to the point to ask my neighbor to kill it. He just laughs comes over kills it and than leaves. So I understand I truly do. the other option is get a mini vac for work and keepi t by you. At least you can use that to sux them up in.. If you can get brave enough for that. Sometimes I am sometimes I'm not. Hope you end up liking your new work space. "Spider Free" :)

neededhope, you understand! They have given me a flyswatter and a vac to suck them up but the problem is getting close enough to do it. I gotta put on my brave front and try to get through this..... or work from my car with a laptop!

It's funny you should say so, the company I work for is a lawn maintenance/landcaping/gardening business. I'd have your garden looking lovely in no time. I can handle the worms.

HI FFFROCKS I don't like spiders either it depends on how big they are. I can deal with the average house spider but when they get to being big and hairy looking it gives me goosebumps to look at them. We used to have a few really big ones that used to hang outside in fron of our door near the bushes every October . I used to tell my husband we didn't need that fake spider spray we got real ones making real webs! He used to keep them around just for the Halloween occasion. Since then we have cut down the bushes because we got new siding on hour house and the bushes were in the way and now there are no spiders out there. I still find myself looking around from time to time to see if any are lurking about.

Lol. I totally understand looking around for them still. The basement of my parents house is lined with cedar wood and with cedar wood comes a wrather large hunter spider.... I still have to do a room check when I go to their place for visits. I can remember waking up there once with the bloody things crawling across my face. I am scarred for life.....

I'm terrified of spiders. Once while hiking I almost pulled Alok into a hole with me trying to get away from a spider.
