Discussions here could be posted for how many times....

I don't think someone is going to copy the existed discussion on purpose though I have meet some discussions are nearly the same.Maybe someone finds something interseting on mylot,and he copy the ideas to other websites,and by chance someone others view the interseting points and put them on mylot again.We won't check whether our discussion is existed on mylot before we make a new discussion,right?So it's excusable to see the same discussion here sometimes. beeduzhe

I also noticed this. Once I post a discussion, and the next day, one of my friend post the same discussion as mine, but I do not know if he plagiarized my discussion or it happened he has the same discussion in mind. I think mylot should do something to control plagiarize.

i agree with you. mylot is a great place... but its lack of monitored posts makes them people post other's discussions as well. i think this is quite irritating that we all see the same topics at the same time. geesh.. frustrating..

Hi mobhomeir, We can’t post similar discussions again and again it is against the guidelines. We can post discussions on similar subjects but I think different people are posting on different themes even if the subjects are same so there won’t be any problem. But surely no plagiarize; if so your account will be suspended so be careful on the same.

I guess many topics are in the public domain and so as long as it is not a direct copy, word for word,then that is not plagiarism. You cannot patent ideas. You also cannot patent concepts. So, it is only the way it is written that is copyright. And this cannot be copied without permission from the originators. You pay royalty to use it.I believe MyLot will not get into this sensitive legal area. Only academia will ensure plagiarism is not used in project paper submission.

I actually have been a witneess to this as well...I think mylot should hire like 5 more moderators to help moderate these forums slightly better. I think it would be more effective and more people would enjoy using the forums...

Hi there! So far, in my one year of mylotting I have not encountered plagiarism. There haven't been a discussion here totally copied, word for word. And if there was one, no mylotter can escape the mylot staff and surely he/she will be deleted from the site. Discussions can be similar. It may have the same ideas but when delivered or written differently, I think that cannot be considered as copied. We have different thinking here and no one can think exactly the way you think. There will always be an additional thought that can make a topic different from the others thought in some sense they are similar. But everyone should be very careful cause mylot do looks an eye on every discussion we post. We can also search the topic before posting it to avoid posting discussions that have been discussed before. There is a search box on the top right corner of the mylot page, so do check before hitting submit. Ciao!

Hi mobhomeir, According to the guidelines, we can't post similar discussion here. We also can't post any copyright articles and photos here. Any discussions/posts that violated the guidelines would be deleted. Most of the similar discussion are post by some members who always try to post a lot of new discussion everyday. They never bother to check the similar discussion before they post their new discussion. If our discussions/posts being deleted for violating the guidelines, our earning from that discussions/post are deducted too. So, it is actually a waste of time to post such discussion.
