Seeing in Infrared......

Humans are classically known to not have hte ability to see in infrared without night vision goggles. But is this absolutely true? I imagine we may have very limited ability to see in the infrared. This is partly based on having recently walked around in the darkness of night, and concentrating on what I imagined would be my ability to see in ifrared. This seemed to help me see in the dark... Perhaps you can try this for yourself... Any comments on human abilities with infrared welcome....

We don't have the ability to see IR because they are a type of wave that our eyes can't perceive but you had the impression that after a while you could see a bit more because the more you stay in the dark the more your pupils open wide so your eye can see things you can't see as soon you start walking in the dark. Try to go in a room with a mirror (maybe the bathroom because it should have a light directly near the mirror), stay for a bunch of seconds in the dark and then staying close to the mirror turn on the light. You will see your pupils larger than usual ;)
