what other benefits of twitter attracts you to go back?

I am new to twitter, and I posted a couple of postings on it. I don't find any attraction on this site, except if someone replied to my postings, or feel attracted to what I said there. What other benefits of twitter that brings you back to twitter.com all the time? Can someone let me know? I might miss a lot of stuff in there.
