I recently got rid of my computer desk and replaced it with an over the bed table as I have a laptop and it is more comfortable to use it on a table than on my lap whilst in bed. I was just moving the table over the bed when one of the legs gave way and the laptop started to fall towards the ground. My heart was in my mouth but luckily I reacted quickly and was able to catch it before there was a catastrophe!! Have you had any simular heart stopping moments lately, or ever, with your pc?

Ouch that would have been expensive my friend! I did something really stupid once, mind you I could blame my ex, my ex was winding me up and the computer at the same time was refusing point blank to cooperate, it was slow, damn slow and I am not the most patient of people and eventually I got so frustrated that I pulled the plug on the computer, well of course that is the worst thing to do and what happened, the computer screen had a nasty blue blank screen on it and I couldn't fix it! I had no back up etc and I was at a loss of what to do it was a Mac and I called around to get it serviced. Well there is no happy ending, the computer was knackered and I had euthanised it. I had to fork out for a new computer, mind you it taught me a lesson never to pull the plug out until I had closed the computer down.

Hi wolfie34 Tut tut tut, naughty wolfie!! I think I have broken things in the past due to my temper but when I was a lot younger, I think I have learnt to control it better as I have got older. Actually I am so laid back these days that very little bothers me!! I hope it didn't cost you too much to replace it though!! Take care hun and thanks for responding

No! LOL....but yesterday I answered a discussion about someone's house burning down as it was on their bed and the vents on the bottom of the computer need to be able to let out the hot air! But I see you had it on a table....so that's a good thing!

Hey there jillhill I think you must have imagined me as this happened!! Yeah it doesn't mean that because it is called a laptop that you should actually keep it on your lap!! A friend of mine burnt his leg from doing just that! LOL Thanks for your response

Hi Humbug, I have already dropped my laptop once but it is still alright \i don't think it fell too badly but am always accidentally tripping over the wire when it is charging and once or twice recently have nearly knocked it on the floor..they were close excapes..the only comfort I do have is that it is insured against accidental damage so wouldn't have to pay if that did happen...LoLo

Well I have a desktop, and one day I was having someone move the table where my computer and modem sits to another location in my place when suddenly the modem slides off the table and smacks down hard on to the hardwood floor, I was worried that the modem would be broken after that, but thankfully it still works fine, my goodness that was really close.
