I have enjoyed the American Idol overall. Sure the voters sometimes get things wrong. But who really cares? If you make it in the top ten, you'll have your shot at success. Now I wish that they would open up the age limit. Let's have some contestants that are forty and over given a chance to compete. They certainly have a better opportunity in dancing then in singing. Ironically, you feature older legends when working with the young talent. Go ahead. Give it a try.

i think too the age limit should stop at age 30 for american idol. i would say the older groups should try out for america's got talent. i think that making it to hollywood says you CAN sing. it is what you do with your talent that counts. if you don't make the top 24 etc., on idol keep singing and expose yourselves out there. you have exposure when you are trying out for american idol as well. you know someone may be watching and call you for your singing. best to everyone.

Well personally I think they are limiting people when they have only the people 16-29 be able to compete here. Personally I have seen a lot of good singers on some of the other shows who become a Star and it is about time they are discovered for sure. I think what they really need to do is do something like what they used to do with Star Search for just the younger age, and then one for maybe the above 30 who want to be discovered as well. You never know what Talent is out there waiting to be discovered until someone really gives them a chance as well.
