Hi mylotters Do you guys really do warm up exercises before exercising. Went to cycle yesterday and I didn't do warm-up exercises before that and my whole legs is aching after cycling. Does warm-up actually prepare our body for exercises and what benefits does warming up has?

Not all the time.Ö I sometimes forget when am at the gym. I do know that warm-up is very important before performing any exercise. It will help avoid injuries.

I also tend to forget to warm up when I was at the gym. I just go straight to hit the treadmill

Oh dear. I do that too! We should try to change this habit because it's kind of not right, might lead to injuries in the future.

Hi there and smile Properly preparing the body prior to a game, practice or training/conditioning session is very importance in assuring maximum performance and reducing the risk of injury. Many coaches and players underestimate the value of warming up prior to the activity. Therefore it is essential to understand the importance of proper warm-up. I always do warm up exercises before starting my exercise. Im glad that hip hop abs actually have warm up exercises and also cool down exercises as well. happy mylotting and smile always!

quite true that many coaches and players underestimate the importantance of warming up before exercising. I even remember that during my physical education lesson, my teacher did not teach us any warm ups at all and he just ask us to run 2.4km. Pardon me, what is hip hop abs?

No... I am not a kind of sport-person, so I don't do exercise, or at least not so much (maybe once in a year). And I don't see the importance to do warming up for exercise that I did just for 'life courtesy' (at least I exercise even thought it's just once a year, right?)

The only time I actually ever warm up is if I'm doing an exercise video that includes warm ups. Other than that, I choose to just hop on my elliptical and go at it. This is probably not the smartest move. I end up extremely sore, and it seems I am more likely to pull muscles, not during the workout itself, but afterward doing simple things. I guess that warming up would definitely be the smart thing to do!!!!

I don't always warm up if I am just going to go for a quick jog. However, if I am going to be working out for at least an hour, then I will warm up so that I can feel better later on.
