Darrell Issa, [with a controversial background himself] Not one to be shy he moved out 13 out of 39 committee staffers and replaced them with others possessing investigative backgrounds, after being formally selected. His intentions? Turning the House Oversight and Government Reform committee from just legislation to the oversight of Federal agencies, this man has a bone to pick! "The role of the Republican committee is going to change," was the words of his spokesman and Issa believes he can get work done with or WITHOUT the majority's personal power. What they want to expose says their spokesman is the Executive waste, fraud and abuse of power. Even more ironic is Issa is going to use the same tactics of former House chairman Henry Waxman--someone Issa regularly butted heads with. " I will have you physcially removed from this meeting if you don't stop." is what Waxman said when Issa complained Waxman wasn't following code and allowing the discussion to switch back and forth between parties. Watch it here (fast forward to 2.00): http://www.nateanddi.com/?p=290 This is Waxman who, when recently addressed about the ERISA Statute in the HEALTH CARE REFORM bill which basically says that even if an employee is improperly denied insurance coverage and they D-I-E the insurance companies still cannot be held accountable because the claim 'dies with them'!! All Waxman could say was 'that is not under our jurisdication of this committee' refusing to revoke this immunity Insurance communities would recieve even when others in the committe repeatedly brought it back up insisting that was NOT the case. Entire session:http://www.c-spanarchives.org/library /index.php?main_page=product_video_info&products_id=288147-2 Keep in mind the 47 million who suffer under these provisions are also being denied coverage for operations which would Enable them to go back to work. SO YES--they will be able to deny you coverage if they deem necessary THIS IS REFORM--HR 3200 (pg 49 of 1017) is more of the S-A-M-E YOU DONT HEAR THAT BEING DISCUSSED IN THE MEDIA Watch It Here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTf1ovODtVs Shadegg: Yesterday, Mrs. Pelosi railed against the evil of insurance companies and yet today, we learn she has cut a secret deal to protect them! Remember when Henry Waxman dragged key members of the Bush Administration before Congress with his pack and drilled them to the point of public humiliation for all eyes to see? And though Waxman is over in the Energy and Commerce committee now you can still be sure the too will butt heads if need be.

I don't know a lot about this fellow, but if he is another coockie cutter republican, I have no use for him and putting him on oversight for anything is equvilent to leaving the inmates to investigate the prison. If he is a true and genuine public servant, a liberty minded genuine public servant, then I will back him 100 percent. I agrea, I don't think one nessesarily needs a majority to effect change, only a very active and proactive few is needed to get things done.

I don't much about him but he was in the New Yorker (pretty sure it was that one, I had like 6 magazines, all highly circulated mags). You know, I don't like what I'm seeing and I'm just washing, HOPING SOME-ONE in Congress man's up and speaks out against these abuses of power! No, it probably won't get coverage on Tv but I say they have every one of their friends post it on the web (before this whole FCC debolical takes flight).
