You wake up an hour before the Alarm - do you get up & start the day?

So I wake up this morning one hour before the alarm is supposed to go off. I lay there and try to drift back to sleep- but it's not going to happen. Then I lay asking myself "do I want to just lay here for an hour and stare at the clock or do I get up and go ahead and start my day?" This is such a tough question because if I get up then I get tired in middle of day or want to go to bed early tonight & then am awakened early again tomorrow morning. What do you choose to do?

I will prefer to wake up and start the day because I will not be able to sleep again and continue the dream I was having so I will better wake up and do something else instead of lying on the bed.

That's what I ended up doing. I'm now done with my workout & showered... had my coffee & breakfast... and still have an hour to myself before the kids have to get up and get ready for school. This could be a great day after all.

If i wake up before the alarm goes off i get up and start my day. If i try to go back to sleep i usually end up just laying their, and if i do fall back to sleep then i do not want to get up when it goes off.

Its just past 7 am and I was thinking this same thing in bed. I don't have to get up until 8 but I woke up early. Usually, I will go back to sleep but I am starting class tonight so I am a bit nervous!

That's great that you have a routine like that. I love sleeping until the alarm goes off... but I have those mornings when i can't sleep any longer & just give in & get up. I also have a routine of running every morning--- it's great for mental clarity and spending time with God as well.

For me. I don't I'll wait for my alarm to set off before preparing my day, because I prepare my alarm 2 hours before going to school. That's why I want to wait for the alarm to set.

You're good!! I would hit the snooze way too many times before I actually get up if I set my alarm 2 hours ahead. I set mine 1 hr & sometimes hit the snooze. But then I have those mornings that I just can't sleep any longer and I'm up regardless of what the clock has to say..

Hey there! Wow, you're brave. I've never risen before the alarm. After it is another story! hehehe...I was always late even going to school up to college. I do love sleeping and can't seem to get enough of it. If I don't get enough sleep, it would seem the day will stretch on and on and on... I would sleep in most days and end up feeling great and can function well at work! Have a great day!

Funny! It had nothing to do with bravery... not sure what the issue was this morning. This happens about 2 - 3 times a year and I just can't sleep!! Not so fun, but I usually manage.... like today! Hopefully I can keep going until tonight and then I'll sleep soundly.

I think it depends on my mood for that day. If I'll wake up still sleepy, I would still lay there but if I woke up feeling not sleepy anymore and feeling really awake, I think I'm ready to start the day. I do exercises before I even get up from bed so that'll make me more awake.

Hi there and smile. Sometimes when im still so sleepy i will just extend my sleep. But there are times that i get up so early and do the hip hop abs video. I do that when i know my body is in good mood. Its always been my practice to rise early in the morning to do the exercise but lately my schedule is broken again because i feel so lazy and tired. I will stick to my good schedule again. happy mylotting and smile always!

I try to work out every morning as well. I usually go for a run. It was actually nice out this morning- very dark when I went but I got it out of the way, thanks to being up sooo early.

One hour is a little too long.Waking up 10-30 minutes before the alarm may make me a little happy.Because I can make use of these period to pretend to sleep and think about the coming day at the same time.If I'm aroused my alarm I will think the day is so awkward.

I do that with my alarm clock as well. I try to squeeze an extra 10 - 30 min. by cutting out the extra things that can be done later in the day. It is usually nice when I can get up and get going though. I get so much more done... I just usually crash mid-afternoon or earlier at night. Hopefully i won't do that tonight.

Well, I know it's bad habit, but it's the true : "I will sleep again", hahaahaha. It's seems like I'm the lazy girl, but I know alarm will wake me up, so it's good idea to sleep for hours and wait the wake up time.

Hi I have the same problem. I have the paper boy job and set my alarm to 6 am. But strangely and frustratingly I get awakened automatically at 5 am. If I keep the alarm for 6.30 am I get awakened at 5.30 am automatically. I go in for short sleeps during this period and this would give an impression of 1 hour sleep but actually it would be 5-10 minutes. So I get up very anxiously every 10-15 minutes typically 4-5 times in that period which makes me anxious. So I get up every time to check the time. But this does not happen why I don't set the alarm and I sleep happily till 8. Couldn't understand why it happens to me and how to change this .

After trying to get back to sleep, I usually just get up and see if there is an hour show I can watch.

I don't have this problem as I don't ever set an alarm clock to wake me in the morning. I must have an internal alarm clock because I have never slept in. Whether I want to get up at 5 am or 10 am I always wake up in time. But sometimes I don't have to get out of bed till 8am and I wake at 6am and can't go back to sleep so I usually will get out of bed and do some computer work. Sometimes I will clean the kitchen if I didn't clean it the night before, or put on some laundry but I always end up working on the computer also. I don't like to lay in bed when I am not sleepy, that is why I will get up. Sometimes after I get up for about 10 minutes or so I feel sleepy again and will go back to bed for another hour or so.

I always jump right out of bed when I wake up. I never use an alarm. When I was younger I used to set the alarm, but always woke up and got going before it went off, so I eventually just quit using one. I am not someone who can laze in bed. If I am awake, I get up and get moving. Just the way I have always been.

My alarm clock is my cats who awaken me anywhere from 6:00am forward. I more often than not go to bed late, so I really would rather the cats leave me alone at least until 7:00am. Seven or later I'm usually good to go.

hi there, These things never happened to me, I always have to struggle to get up from my bed after several times of my clock alarmed. I'm curious about how other people could get up even before the clock alarm, or maybe I'm just get on the bed too late. Good day!
