Do we forget to enjoy our children?

As a mom sometimes I catch myself being more concerned with preparing my son for his future (which is my job as a parent) and I forget to allow him to be a child and see him for who he is now. We have to stop and just enjoy our children now and not concern ourselves with who they are supposed to be later on in life.

Yes during the time I'm busy earning a living for them, as am a single parent being widowed when they were still young, I really forgot enjoying with my children. Now, however they're grown ups and have jobs, we're making up bonding together during sundays and special occasions. We dine out together on their birthdays, we go swimming or just stay at home singing together. I think it's not too late to enjoy with them.

That's great that you are close to your children still. Single parenting isn't easy and the fact that you are close to your children says a lot about how good of a job you did in raising them.
