Have you ever been told how to do something and then found a better way?

Have you ever asked for help on a fourm and then got the help you needed only to find out later that there's an easier way to do it? If that has ever happened to you i'd like to hear the story and what it was about. Now one day i was trying to train my strength when out of nowhere some guy said "Str lvls" and i was the only one to answer and he's like "go train at ______ cause there a lot better for your lvl" (can't remember what monster he told me to train on). Now i went and trained on that monster and later on while browsering the fourms on http://www.tip.it/runescape/ and found out that the monster i had been training on before the guy told me the other monster gave me more xp gave 20-30 thousand more xp an hour then the monster that he sent me to did.
