Did Senator Ted Kennedy work the best interest of the American people?

As the Media sings the praises of Senator Kennedy are they going to bury part of History and ignore the facts? We are being told not to talk about his involvement in the death of a young woman, his help in covering up the rape of a young girl, instead we are to focus on the good he did while a Senator. One of his Official Acts as a Senator was to contact the Russians in an effort to undermine our President (Reagan) and his efforts to help protect our allies.
Not only did he offer to help but offered suggestion on how to change the public opinion and there by increasing the democrats chance of winning the presidency in 1984. He even suggested that if successful the party might look to him to be their leader.
Was he willing to sell out his country to get the Presidency for himself?

That letter shows him to be a traitor to America and to Reagan. He in effect offered to work on behalf of the USSR against Reagan's policies and against America's interests.
That makes him a traitor.

So many people have tried to make him a Saint they seemed to forget he was frist a man.......When people die we tend to do that.....Which if the remembered all the things he done that was pure evil like killing Mary Jo, and helping to cover up a rape in Flordia, and all the young Kennedy Boys he help get drunk would they still think that way.....
Yes he had a lot of tradigy in his life but haven't we all....He's not the only man who has lost a brother to violance, nor is he the only one who has gotten away with a crime.......Because his family was rich enough to cover it up...
What upsets me is now he wanted the laws in Ma, change to suit him because there is a Democrate in office now who could put in another one in his place...If they change the law there now then there is no hope in the forture for people there to get a fair shake.....
