What are your guidelines for morality?

Of course if you are a believer in a god being your guides come from some kind of scripture. I am agnostic. Most people seem to thing that a person who is agnostic or an atheist cannot be a moral person. But this is not so. I view right and wrong from the viewpoint of harm. Any harm that is done to a person, place or thing is wrong. Of course there are different levels of harm done and so should be different levels of punishment for such "crimes". What do you think?

I am a Christian whose relationship with my Father God through the Lord Jesus Christ has first priority in my life. I believe He has set a standard in His Word, the Bible, and even from a logical point of view, they make sense. The Justice system of the Western world uses God's laws as a foundation for their laws. Having said that, I must also say that I have some very good friends who are atheists, agnostics and wiccans. I admire them in many ways and would never say they cannot be as moral as any others. They are good friends who would not willingly cause another any harm. Sure, we disagree on a number of topics, and we debate issues, but we respect each others rights to believe as they wish.

I don't know in other parts of the worlds, if there is a law that implementing to punish a person doing an immorality. But in our country morality is not case but a words that is not acceptable to society and God...Doing such acts is not a crimes but condemnable... Since your an agnostic or atheist person I want to ask what morality do you practice in life? I think your a perfectionist also because your not believe in God, right?

What I'm seeing and feeling here, is that too many people blame or give credit to 'God' or religion for the good and the bad things that happen to them! A person's actions and decisions cause a lot of the good and bad things that happen to them! Too much emphasis is placed on whether you believe in God or not! This absolutely does not make you wrong or right, nor good or bad! You can be controlled by religion if you let it, but you don't have to if you don't want to! You can be moral, with or without God or religion!
