Am I having an Anxiety attack?

Here's my thought on this. I was so upset yesterday because i found out that my dad hauled my white grand am off to get money out of it. He was told not to do anything with it and he couldn't do anything with it without having a title to the car. So, I signed the title over to my brother so he would haul it off and give me half of whatever he got out of the car when he hauled it off. That was the agreement. According to him, he didnt give dad the title to haul it off. So how did he haul it off if my brother didn't give it to him. Anyways, I was upset about it and I called my grandmother who is my dad's mom and she's been bailing him out on his house payment and everything else when happens and when I told her that he had hauled it off, she jumps out with well he wouldn't be having to worry about money if you hadn't got in trouble with the bank and my parents having to refinance the house then he would be able to pay his house payment. I hung up the phone and my mom called her as we went to go buy her house and explain to her that it wasn't my fault he started seeing other women, it wasn't my fault he divorced mom, it wasnt my fault he was doing drugs and got caught steeling and it sure as hell wasn't my fault he got put in jail for 4 months because he violated his probation. It's not my fault he can't pay his bills when he screwed up and lost all of his business with his heating and air business. It's not my fault. I was so upset that I had to get out of the car and go in the house while she talked to my grandmother. She's done this before a few weeks ago, by telling me that my child will die if I let her go back up to my dad's house. So, after explaining that. let me ask this. If I'm having trouble sleeping and stressed out and my hearts pounding for a long time before I can shut my brain and body down to go to sleep is it an anxiety attack? My mom says that this is an anxiety attack from where i got so upset because even when I think about it now, I get upset and can't think and have to go lay down and then I can't lay down because my heart is pounding so hard and so fast that I can't sleep.

My husband has had panic attacks where he felt like the walls were coming in on him and he had to get outside . It happend sometimes when we were shopping . He would sweat , his heart would race and he would have to go outside for awhile . I also knew someone else who said that anxiety attacks were like having a heart attack . Maybe what you were feeling wasn't as bad.. hope you feel better

I do hope you feel better. It is never easy when a family member attacks another even if it is verbally..sometimes those scars stay forever.

Well I think the majority of it is stress. Like you couldn't figure that one out. I've been trying to keep my stress levels down. But how dare she sit there on the phone and say that all this that my dad brought upon himself is my fault. I know there are different types of stress and that there are different things out there that can let on an attack. If it gets worse or happens again or frequently then I'll call my pcp to see if I need to do something about it.

I think a panic attack is more like sharp pains in your chest. At least that is what my doctor told me some years ago when I first started having them. To stop a panic attack, you can simply lay down and take a lot of deep breaths and you will feel better. But with you, the laying down doesn't help. I think this is more like high blood pressure or stress. I have had this a lot since I have been staying out of the country. Mostly when I am nervous. I have only been able to sleep once about every 48 hours, because my heart is pounding so much. So I just get up and do some work.

I've tried different things and nothing really seems to help it. I've also noticed that about the same time I started having these symptoms I also started having problems with my bladder. I asked my doctor when I went in for the bladder infection if I was to be concerned about the bladder hurting as bad as it was and she said no. I've had quite a bit of stress and my blood pressure is the lowest it's been since my ex boyfriend left in february. Which it was the highest it had ever been when he was living with me.i'm going to see what's going on next week if it gets worse. thanks for responding.

It sounds like an anxiety attack. Sounds like you have good reason for one. If you continue to do this you should go to a Dr. This could also be raising your blood pressure.

Every time they have checked my blood pressure since january it keeps going down to where it used to be before all of this started happening last year. So, I don't know if that would be it or not. I'm wondering why I would just have the heart pounding and racing when I lay down? That's a little wierd isn't it?

It might be a very mild one... I think it's more so stress and anger though. It's really hard to say since the other symptoms that you stated was feeling upset, heart racing and trouble sleeping. A lot of things can cause your heart to race that are more likely then a panic attack. So I don't think that's what you had unless there is something else such as numbness, short of breath, panicking and things like that.

Yeah, I have noticed that this is not the first time and it usually does it when I try to lay down and keeps me from getting a good night sleep. I was changing three different meds out to get into one on an antibiotic that i could take and so I don't think that the medicine is the thing doing it because it is used for the bladder infection that I have. Which seems to be getting better. I havent really asked the doctor about it. I just get concerned because I don't really feel my heart beating unless its like racing like what happened last night and today. If it keeps happening I will see what to do about it.
