Mmmmmm Good. I took a friend out salmon fishing for the first time on Sunday. It was a perfect day although a little more sun would have helped the salmon to jump a lot more. It's so nice to just sit there on a big rock, have a sandwhich and watch the salmon leaping out of the water. I caught two nice salmon, one too big to keep. It was 29 inches and we can only keep them up to 25 inches but the second one I caught was in the limit at 24 inches so I brought it home for our family. I cut the salmon into about 1 1/2 inch steaks and BBQed them with some BBQ sauce. I also baked a few potatoes and made a nice salad with some of our fresh tomatoes, peppers, onions and lettuce. It made for a great dinner with enough for another meal later. Do you barbeque salmon? How do you prepare and what do you put on salmon?

When I lived in Oregon we used to go up to BC and do crabbing and Salmon fishing! I really don't care for Salmon that much. But I have a good sized smoker and liked them smoked! but the crab were outstanding! We'd go off Vancouver Island we had friends that lived there and they would BBQ them! Have a good one! tdemex

I have never given smoked salmon a try but I love it just the way it is as long as it's not over cooked. Mmmm crab. We don't have crab very often, usually only when we are on vacation for some reason.

I make my own BBQ sauce too but haven't tried with just tomato paste and lemon juice. I will have to give that a try when I BBQ the next few salmon steaks. Thanks
