I seem to have a sleeping problem. It takes me hours to fully wake up. I have to wake up hours earlier than I need to just so I can make it to work safely, because the first few hours I am a zombie. Its never really mattered before. This has been going on for as far as I can remember, but now its causing a problem with my relationship. When i'm talking to my girl I fall asleep. She thinks i'm ignoring her. Is there anything I can do to stay awake. Without drugs, and magic drinks. I want to be awake, not cranked up. anyone?

well!!!! Sleep, although natural,is actually one of the most important things in life.you can go weeks without food, but only days without water and sleep, although a few unique people claim to have gone years without sleep after a trauma to the brain.....Please take suggestion from a doctor.......Have a great life ahead....

It may be your physical health. Check it out with an endocrinologist - Sometimes over or under active hormones have a way of making us tired. If this condition is interfering with your relationships or work, it is especially important to do this as soon as you can. Good Luck

well it doesn't interfere with my work, if i get moving, and stay moving, constantly doing something then I can wake up, but when im just sitting there talking with not much to do I easily just pass out.

I had a bit of trouble staying awake during the day on holiday recently and my dad suggested that I do something to make myself tired before I went to bed so that I was knackered and would go off to sleep easier. I have been quite active since and it's really helped. It might work for you.

yep I already do that. I have no problem getting to sleep. Its the waking up part that I've never been able to do. always always have not been able to wake up easily. I'm not a morning person. Whatever time of day it is.

Then I would suggest making an appointment with the doctor.
