What is the quality of life? Someone thinks that the quality of life equals to big house, luxury car, steady job with high salary, carefree life. Others think that the quality of life means lofty ideals, ambition, the process of continual self-break and self realization, even though they just have adequate food and clothing. In front of flashy and showy reality, what do you think is the real quality of life? Pursuing the fame and money, focusing on the result, or ceaselessly striving and focusing on the process? We want your opinions.

My opinion on quality of life is based upon the happiness index, inner peace, your comfort level with yourself. See if you have all the luxuries of life but still finding a vacuum in life then quality of such life cannot be called good. So it is the inner peace, if you have it then your quality of life is good.

You got that right sunita64! Right on! and I will second the happiness part. I would say that your quality of life depends on how much joy you put into your life .. It has nothing to do with material things

Yes,I slao think that the qualityof life equals big house, luxury car, steady job with hige salary, and is respected by others. If someone live a rich life by selling toxicant,I don't he can live a quality life.I think the most thing decide if we can live a quality life is that we do a respected job.

I think people find out in later years that real quality of life is the simple things and when we get older and things start going wrong we realize our health can be the whole meaning of quality and that in actual fact just to be happy and healthy is life...

The concept of real quality of life lies in kind not in degree. The poor people living in the huts are happy and contended. The person like Bill Gates with billions of dollar is not happy but a worried and tensed man. Now see and weigh the real quality of life. Here is a difference in kind but not in degree. Yes there is third party who see the quality of life in real sense. With a mediocre life and all necessity in life available and no tension and no any want could be the real quality of life.

Well I certainly don't think the quality of life is all materialistic. Actually, I think the quality of life is to persue happiness. If you aren't happy then it doesn't matter what shiny new car your driving in. I just feel it is about challenging yourself, pushing through obstacles and feeling 'true accomplishment'.

Quality of life to me would be no matter how big or small that the obstacles appear in front of you - if you accomplish them, then it matters. Quality of life cannot be based upon how much material matter you obtain through your lifetime. Another quality of life meaning to me would be how well your health and well-being is maintained throughout the years and what you can do for others.
