Question about lumps

If you have a breast lump and it goes away, is it still something to worry about? Last month for about 2 weeks I had a small lump. It hurt all the time. Worse when trying to lie on that side or washing in the shower. I still have some general soreness, but no lump. I go the the Dr's in Oct. Should I tell the Dr. about it? I used to wonder if I would know if I were to ever feel a lump. There was no mistake about this one.
