watching television .. how "like-minded" are you and partner

we are have different preference when watching television, normally i get to watch what i want when he is not around but when he is there i have to learn to enjoy watching his selection ..
He likes sports channel especially when soccer season starts, then he likes all the documentary (history channel, discovery ...), action movies
I prefer sitcoms, some series, non action,
But then we have some programmes that we enjoy together, like the comedies, and intelligent movies ...
After all man are the owners of "remote control" ...

We enjoy some similar shows, especially comedy and luckily he is not a sports watcher.
He despairs of some of my viewing choices, things like Charmed and America's Next Top Model which I watch to unwind. I also love cookery shows which he gets annoyed at because he is a chef!

yeah, i do watch America's Top Model .. which he dislikes as well ... Cookery, sometimes it is too boring for him (although he is not a chef)

Yes.My family as well.If the family members go to work.So TV is my one person.If the husband and children at home,I was with them to see.We are the only loving family together is like watching comedy.Particularly with regard to their children grow up movie.That would make us more united and friendly family.

I haven't got a partner now so the remote control is 100% mine, although sadly I do not have Sky any more so I don't tend to watch much television, but what I watch is what I want to watch and I don't have to compromise. When I lived with my ex we had Sky and our tastes were completely different, so the way we got round it was that because I was home during the day, I got to watch what I wanted during the day and when my ex came home they could watch what they wanted. I was also able to record programs so I didn't miss out and it worked well.

Great!! you watch and enjoy the programmes that have been watched by your partner though those channels are not of your interest. Whatever the programme is I enjoy watching with my partner.

Hello my friend sanjana_aslam Ji,
You have really drawn correct picture in any house where TV is being viewed. I like your expression, "After all man are the owners of "remote control"is complete and perfect in its own. No sooner our sons enter the house, the remote is their first choice. We rae just ignored, we always watch serials and when deprived, we loose links between episodes. But as a old persons, we keep quiet.
