I gotta get me some new friends!!

No disrespect to my long term mylot friends intended at all but I gotta get me some new friends!! I haven't been very active on myLot for a few months until recently but during that time I have left all my notifcations for all my myLot friends to ON. I always get emails when my friends have started new discussions. When I first started on myLot, well over a year ago now, I was getting over 100 emails a day from discussion starters, no word of a lie. During the time I haven't been active I was only getting about 10 - 15 notifications per day. I have recently asked a few myLotters to be my friend and so far they have all accepted, no reason for them not to really! LOL I really miss some of the friends I made in my newbie days and often wonder what has happened to them. Maybe they lost interest or have not had the time to spend on myLot. Are you on the look out for new friends here on myLot? Do you never ask people to be your friend on here?

Hi Humbug! I count myself extremely lucky in that I have a multitude of friends, and close friends here on Mylot, but I am always accepting new friends, but I very seldom request friendship, but I put that down to my irrational fear of rejection, yes I know it probably sounds daft, but that's me. Most if not all of my friends are on notifications and yet I still don't get the influx of notifications like I used to and not to boast but I have over a dozen pages of friends! We all like to make new friends and for me no disrespect to my other friends but I love getting friend requests from people from the UK! Or seeing someone is from the UK, there are not many of us 'active' UK citizens on Mylot so it's a lovely surprise when new ones appear or even old ones return and request friendship.

Hey wolfie34 You'll be surprised how many Brits are on here actually, I have come across a few ex-pats too. A lot of Brits do appear to be inactive at the moment it has to be said. Blimey the two I know really well haven't been active in an eon and I so wish they were cos that would really help boost my earnings haha I have still got my trusted friend wolfie though so I am ok!! I am on my 17th page of friends as I don't want to delete anyone just in case they come back!! Cheers hun

Hi guys! I hope you don't mind me butting in. I'm just new here in mylot and trying to get a grip on how things work here. I only have one friend as of now, the one who referred me to this site. I know I look like a loner, pitty little me. Well, I hope you guys could help me around if it's not too much to ask. Cause it looks to me that you're all a bit of an expert here already. Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Hey there angryeve and welcome to you to myLot You most certainly are not butting in at all. This is what you are supposed to do, get involved in others discussions. It helps to have lots of friends on myLot so that you can respond to their discussions and theirs to yours. What I would do is respond to lots of discussions first and get a feel for the site before starting your own. Try to start discussions that almost everyone can relate to in order to increase your amount of responses. Try to be as discriptive as you can when responding and keep a discussion going if you can. I am sure I have missed loads of tips out but don't hesitate to ask anyone on mylot any questions as most of us are friendly and are only too happy to help. Thanks for your response and happy mylotting

Hi Devon, thanks for all the tips you've posted, I'll take a note of that. I'm currently trying to get a hang on posting comments. I really think that your advice with me not starting a discussion yet is really helpful. Since regulations here in mylot is a bit strict, I think as a new member I should first familiarize myself with how discussions here usually get to progress (don't know if that's the right term though hehe). I'm always willing to learn new things, and would really love to meet new friends. Anyways, feel free to remind of the must-not-to-do here in mylot to avoid myself being kicked out.

humbug, we must have come back at about the same time. i come and go all the time. i've been on longer this time then any other time in the past few years... yeap.. years.. I Wonder about some of the people i've met here too that i dont see anymore. but i think a lot of the more active friends i've had have come into trouble at mylot and are not the same names anymore, and i'm confused when they speak to me like i know them! lol. or they have just stopped coming.. *shrug* I had more fun when i was on more often, but i hadn't had the time or wanted to put the effort into sorting through discussions till recently! oo i always need to take breaks from mylot.. i dunno why. i get bored, or i keep reading the same things! And i have noticed there are only a few people left on my list that are making new discussions. I have most notifications off though, so i see most of the discussions friends make in the just under the friends started tab on the discussion page.

hehe glad to see you back too.. i know sometimes i think upon making a discussion i'm repeating myself even!! after i've been writting for so long i run outta things to say/ask! I have seen a lot of mylotters though (the people that have been here a while) that have excellent discussions even after years of mylotting.. guess they are GOOD! hehe.

Hi ya Sissygrl I am so like you, I get bored of it sometimes and seeing a lot of newbies on here starting the same old discussion unknowingly, bless them they think they are being original haha. I am sure I too am guilty of starting a discussion that someone else has been here and done several times. I was finding it a bit of chore to come on here for a while and as my kids were off school for the summer holidays it seemed like a good time for a break though I think I stopped a while befor they finished school! Thanks for your response and I am glad to see you are still around

Actually, I was the one who is always being invited!lol. This happens when I post a discussion that they find it is really useful to them. This is a socialization site, so one of the things that we can do here aside from making discussions is to interact, mingle and make friends with other members of the site.I cannot count the number of fiends I have already, not to boastfully say, when I open my account in the site, there is always a friend request, even without checking its background, I easily approve the invitation. It is really good to make friends here. They are always there to support you every time you will encounter some problems.happy mylotting!

Hi there rberon1985 Don't get me wrong I get my fair share of people requesting to be my friend which, like you, I always accept regardless of their background. I am just wanting to have more friends that are active right now to converse with. Thanks

Not to boastfully say,I am one of the active members in terms of barging in.What I am talking about barging in, is that when I responded to a discussion then someone give comment, I easily responded to the comment and then so on and so fort. That is a great help to gain more friends as well as to increase your earnings here in the site.

Hi Humbug, I believe we met just the other day for the very first time, your lack of activity of late would explain that one now. Notifications are fine except when they come in blocks of ten all from the same person then I rather lose the will to look at them

Hi ya thea09 Yes we might have been friends sooner if I had been around haha . I too had someone on my friends list who would start maybe 10 or so discussions at a time and I used to get them in a block but what used to annoy me the most was that he never responded to any of my discussions and never made comment on the responses that he used to get from everybody so I kicked him to the curb! haha Thanks for your response

I've had exactly the same thing Humbug, but I tend to cull. I don't respond to all of friends discussions, just the ones which catch my eye, and I feel the same back. Looking forward to getting acquainted, I did look in on your dating thing and was suprised as expected Humbug to be male, good name though.

Even though its just over the internet their help and advice is really important to me! Its nice to know that if I have a problem i can make a discussion about it and people will comment. Hi ya x_Jo_x Don't worry about sending others friends requests, like you, a lot of people won't reject. So go out there and make friends, someone always has to make the first move, grab the bull by the horns and go for it!! I expect a friend request from you with five days of this comment hahaha LOL Thanks for your response

Hi Humbug, am glad you have said this as when I first started here which must be just over a year ago too, my email box was inundated with emails from my friends here on mylot, now I do get a few but not as many as then, I do know ther was and still is a friend of mine who found new pastures but also pops in here now and then even though she doesn't seem to make any discussions or responses to anyone..yes there has been problems with a few of my friends but they have always come back but it seems like maybe others have found elsewhere to go or other things to do which gives them less time on mylot, sbut still am here my friend am not going to go away, I value your friendship too and it's good to have you back! hugs LoLo xx

Hey there littleowl It's really good to see you. I think I know which friend your are talking about, a mutual friend of ours I think. I have gone off to other sites (not money earning ones) just to take a break from myLot a bit and refocus but I am back now, well for a bit anyway!! Take care my friend and thanks for taking the time to respond

Hey there humbug25, and no I'm not really looking for new friends they usually look for me for some reason, I dont usually have to ask to often for friends here I mean put in a friends request, though I have a few times in the past, but not lately thankfully. besides anyone who request me as a friend will be getting one of the most active mylot friends and I wont spam you or give you a bad rating so it won't be a hassle to have me on there list, so thankfully I dont have to put much effort in requesting friends lol, but off line is another story.

Hi ya apples99 Well I am certainly not looking for more friends offline, I have plenty but I guess you can never have too many eh? As for online friends online, well someone requested to be my friend and another friend had just informed of this person being a troll so luckily it was before I accepted their request!! Thanks

Hello humbug! I have been away here for a few months too and I just got back here last week. I got so busy that I have no time to respond to my mylot friends. Eventhough I got away, I never erased the notifications from mylot about my friends new discussion because I know I will go back here and I will respond to them all. It's good to have new friends here so I actually accept some friend requests with those members whom I know where active here through the number of their posts and the time they were here.

Well Humbug, I'm up for an add if you like. I have to say of all the social sites I belong to, I have never asked anyone to be my friend. I think it's fear of rejection. All the friends I've made come from others approaching me. So approach away Humbug. xoxo Cyne

Hi there CynergyDiva You should never worry about being rejected on here. At the end of the day if someone rejects your friendship request then you should look at it as being their loss. I can't say anyone has ever rejected one of my requests anyway! I am sure that over time on this site your confidence will grow and it won't bother you if you are rejected or not and you will choose people to become your friends who you know will accept. Thanks for your response, happy mylotting and approach on it's way LOL

I don't mind adding new friends but some of them are not as active as everyday. that's why sometimes i just wait until they reach a certain level. i prefer to constantly be friend with the oldies and veterans of mylot. well, sometimes i do go back to those people and add them.i have also received a lot of notifications already from my friends

Hi there dolmitta It is fairly important to increase your friends list as it will save you from looking around the site for a discussion to respond to and you will have more people around to respond to your discussion which in turn will help increase your earnings! I will send you a friend request so be sure you accept it huh? LOL Thanks

I have only been here a few days and have not asked anyone to be a friend yet, but several have asked me and I have accepted - the more the merrier, Isay! I came on here, like a lot of people, because it was a paying site and I figured I may as well get paid for the ridiculous amount of time I spend in my nocturnal computer habits! But I am learning its actually kind of fun to meet all these people and join in with discussions.

Hi ya EnglishTeaDuck Yes I don't think people should look at this site as an earning site cos you could spend all day on here and still only earn 50c for your trouble. It is a very enjoyable, socialable place to be with lots of support and help from fellow myLotters should you need it. I have had a few dilemas that I have brought to myLot and have been pleased to say I was able to sort things out with the help of mylotters! Thanks for your response
