Hello mylotters, Well, I am 23 and I finally got my own apartment. No more boyfriends or roommates just me! I am so excited. So instead of impulsive buying I am trying to make a list of things I will need for each room. Yesterday I bought new flatware and dinnerware sets but then I forgot to buy soap so I can clean them before I put them in the cabinet. So any advice or anything I will need. So far I got... Disk Rack, sink mat, potholders, oven mitts, mixing bowls, pressure cleaner, knife set, papertowel holder, bakeware, cutting board.. I already have the big stuff like blender, toaster oven, food processor, cookware..But anything else please let me know!! THANKS!!!!

Do you have dishcloths and/or sponges, hand towels and napkins? Besides dish soap, you'll probably find a use for a scouring powder or some kind of heavy duty cleaner. A broom and mop of some kind will be needed, too, but you might already have those.

Tupperware, container or whatever, you might need to use it. First it's for storage. Second it's for food packaging. You might need a container for leftover cooking oil. You can't put the one that you already use back inside. And I don't know about you but I do need an apron. I am clumsy and often dirtied my clothes while cooking. Good luck with your new life!

Thanks great idea. Since I have all these new expenses I will have to start cooking and bringing lunch to work with me. I totally forgot about a containter for the cooking oil.
