As a parents, we could not resist not to buy toys for the kids. More ever kids are very lucky now. What sort of toys, you just name it, it can be found easily in the toys world!
But do you think toys are important for kids? Bigger kids like 9-12 years old still playing toys, what do you think?
I buy toys for my kids too. I normally buy some educational toys. Lately my kids have got a hand me down toy from the cousin. It is a toy gun! Oh, I just hate this toy. They take the gun and point at me and hubs, wanted to shoot me,
! They even asked me to pretend die after get the shooting! I totally objected kids play toy gun!

hello vingyan06,
Toys are important for kids but we need to choose what type or kind of toys we are giving or buying them. They are learning from the toy and they think that all is safe and good.
So the best thing that we can give and buy them are the educational one. For those who are 9-12 years old, what they mostly like and enjoy are PSP, gameboy and the likes. Our kids are buying their own toy from their allowance. They are sharing some amount till such time that they can afford what they want. Sometimes, if they can not wait, they will borrow from us and they will pay us back when they have already savings. We're giving them reward in terms of money but not that big if they are included in the honor roll. And because of this, they are really doing their best to reach it so they can have money to buy for their wants.

Hello Robert,
Thanks for your response and time here!
No doubt educational toys are the best toys for kids! I have so much educational toys a t home. Different age of kids need different type of educational toys. So it is important for parents to choose the right toys for the kids.
Your kids are so sensible, they know how to save from their allowance to buy toys they want. But some how I just think that PSP or game boy or PS games are just too expensive and it is no good for kids. Once they get addicted at this kind of games, they will spend all their time playing games.

Toys is an important element for our child development. But of course, we have to choose the right toys for them to play with.
I prefer to buy some educational toys for my son.It helps alot in his growth and he can learn more things by playing around with the toy.
Let's take an example : Kids mini laptop (with A-Z alphabets).
It is a very good toy for kids nowadays, simply it teaches alpabets and let them learn some simple English words. My son has picked up some words from these mini laptop and he can recognize the picture and say out the name of the picture.
I am fully encourage parents to get these kind of good educational toys for the kids, although some good toys will cost more, but they served a good purposes for our kids.No harm to spent money on it!!

Hello shia,
thanks for your response. I agree with you, choosing the right toys is important. We as a parent need to scan once before buying the toys for kids. Beside that, the material of the toys is important and must take in the count before you decide to buy the toys.
Yeah, I like those educational toys and now my daughter is 3 years old she likes to learn ABC letters from her mini laptop! In fact the mini laptoy is not cheap too. But she likes to play with it. She can memorize more than 20 letters now. I am so proud of her. It is worth of the money spent on the mini laptop!
!
I will recommend my friends to buy this learning mini laptop for their kids too.

I think that anything thing that can help a child to use their imagination and learn is important. My oldest is 12 and there are still some toys that he really enjoys that require him to use his imagination. My 8 year old has a few too. My daughter, who is 7 plays with hers the most.

toys are definitely important since they provide happiness in a way that other things don't. just like with grown ups a little splurge or two helps lighten and brighten things up, right
? however, yes, the kind of toys matter. educational toys are always a good idea but it helps to give toys that other kids also have (in minimal no.) so a kid can have a sense of normality.

I don't have kids and my siblings are still single. Yes I agree that children now a days are very lucky because their parents always buy them toys. When we are younger our mother don't buy us toys because we often destroy toys the next day. Our toys that time don't last longer. That's why my mother don't buy us toys anymore. Kids shouldn't be spoiled and parents should choose what to buy for their children.

Hello Agv0419,
I have not much toys when I was young too. But still I get to grow up healthy in all the aspects,
!
I admit children at this moment are just too lucky. There are many many toys available for them. Just lately my daughter has got a new baby doll called Baby Alive. It can eat, drink, pee and poo! Sound freak but it does! It is actually a way for little kids to learn to potty!

It is true kids like to imitate the elders and so they ask for such toys that they happen to see in the films. I generally buy what the kids wish but they should be value based. Teach the children through their games. Their minds are very sharp and they learn by observing. So take advantage and try to teach them the values of life and try to sharpen their special hidden skills.
