Hi there Jen14ed, I think you will simply love Las Vegas. It is a very exciting city. I have visited it 3 times myself, and had a blast every time!
It depends on what you are planning to do in Vegas, on how much money you will need. If you don't plan to gamble, $200 per day should be plenty. If you plan to gamble, just plan on winning! LOL
There are a lot of free things to see and do in Las Vegas. Here's a web site that has a list of free things... http://www.moorefreetravel.awardspace.com If you get a chance, check it out.
I would suggest starting on the strip at Treasure Island, then go to the Mirage, then Bellagio. If you time it just right, you can watch the Pirates at Treasure Island, then walk down the street and see the Volcano at the Mirage, and then the Fountains of Bellagio.
Have fun, and good luck!
