Want to invest online? What is the best online broker service?

I want to invest online I just to start out slow with a little money. Wont be making a lot of trades maybe just invest in the S&P 500 or something simular. I'll then want to throw a little $$ toward my investment every month. Want to find a place that wont charge me so much that my little monthly investment isn't cancelled by the fee and charge
