generally speaking. it all depends. if you work hard and smart, and you will be acknowleged by the boss . because, the reason the boss want you is what he need you .so they are very clever to adjust your work whether hard or smart.second. maybe you work more and get less. that is nomal. recently, I found the boss give you salary according to the work you have done, not your capable.that is to say.is not as the same value as your ability.so .at that time, you will change a work or employ yourself. after all he is the head .

In the 1st instance I do not expect others and not even my boss to acknowledge the hard work I put in. Secondly by working hard and doing many things in office, I become more experienced and obviously I become indespensable. The boss is not a fool to loose indespensable persons you know.

Yes I did the job of that assistant manager for 3 months and then they gave the job to the boss's brother. It was very messy. I won't have to go through it again though, I am self-employeed now.

of course it is felt if boss wants to take the whole credit. but my dear don't worry.basically every person works for his personal goals and achievements/set targets.the achievements speak out themselves and never need any acknowledgement.

Of course! And it sucks! First thing I learned is that as long as I'm doing my job then I shouldn't count on appraisal from my boss to get me thru my day. If you feel that is something you can't work without, then it's time to hit the classifieds!!
