Hello mylotters. Let us all talk about beauty and being vain! As i have remembered, a lot of guy friends of mine back in college loves to use lotions, moisturizers, facial wash, body wash, body creams, whitening medications and those priceless perfumes. Back then, I am kind of offended by them because i was not fond of using those items during college. But now, i sure have some items that i use everyday like facial wash, facial moisturizer and lotion for my body. How about myLotters? Are you vain? Or are you a natural beauty?:D We know that vanity can strike both men and women. I would like to ask you if you could share your beauty regimen for the whole day. For an instance, what products are you using for your skin? Do you use medications? Let us all share our beauty secrets and beautify each other.

Natural beauty is beauty indeed. This is one of my motto. I don't use medications. I think what you eat is what you might become physically. So, I'm more to eating vegetables and fruits but I still eat meat. I only use powder on my face and damp a handkerchief so as to wipe away excess powder.

Let me get this straight. You are a male user right? And i am quite surprised that you are using powder on your face. Most of the males i know just wipe excess oil with their handkerchiefs and without the powder.

Then you blame it on your peers huh? Gotcha! jk. A lot of "men" use it nowadays but some men who are really masculine doesn't use one.

I knew some males and some male friends who apply powder on their faces.

Hi Koalapenguin, I am a natural beauty, though I wouldn't consider myself beautiful. I am probably more of a spokes person for inner beauty instead . I do moisturise after I wash my face, usually both in the morning and at night, though it depends on how I feel at the time. I never use make up though, even when I go out, which is why I consider myself a natural beauty. I have always been more of a tom boy by nature and so never saw the need to try and impress someone by applying make up (especially since said person would only see me all natural in the mornings anyway, and I wouldn't want to scare them off by looking like a different person lol!) As for the name of moisturiser, Morrisons err cheapest I think (we aren't all that sophisticated in this house lol) Very enjoyable topic Dranz

Hello DC. Why won't you consider yourself beautiful? If you think you have the natural beauty, then i think the site to see in the mirror is pleasant. And make ups are used by people who hide their imperfections so i guess you have a perfect skin. That's a gift! I haven't heard of Morrison's but if it suits your skin, then so be it. We would definitely want something to suit our skin that doesn't cause too much pain in our pockets, right? I am also using a cheap stuff named Pond's for my facial moisturizer and i don't bother what others might say if i am using this thing or not. In special occasions, it's good to have make-up. Or you still don't want to apply it? Sometimes change is good to look at especially if it will enhance your beauty. I hope you could try it sometimes because there are some wonders make-up can do in a person.

Aww.. The Morrison's is a supermarket. In our country, we have SM, as our famous grocery. Walmart is for US citizens. I'm happy that you are not too vain with your looks. I think you save a lot of money compare to those high-end supermodels who cannot get out of their houses without make-up. And to think, that make-ups are sooo expensive! Not to mention those with famous brands. Your whole month salary will be spent by buying those things. Thanks for the response Dranz.

Hi KoalaPenguin, I don't wear make up as I was never taught how to do it, and I don't really see the point in learning now lol. I have seen the changes it can have on people via the make over programs and all that (and I have seen what damage putting on too much can do too lol), but I don't tend to do things that would require me to give it a go. I figure if I ever got married I would probably arrange to have a professional make me look beautiful, but other than that I don't mind too much lol! As for Morrisons it is a supermarket here, like Walmart over there I think. The moisturiser we have is their cheapest one I think, but it seems to work All the best, Dranz

The best moisturizer for me is OLAY. I have used it for almost 2 years, every morning and evening. My friends really noticed the improvement on my face. They said, it's like i'm wearing make up. But i don't. I never wear make-up. I hate the smell of it. So I guess olay really worked for me. Now, I really don't have enough time to pamper myself. So asked my derma to give me a product that I can only use at night, so I won't have to bother myself in the morning. She gave me glycolic acid. It's good for oily face. Also good for those large pores. I love the cream. Now, I just wake up in the morning, and wash my face.

That picture in the avatar is NOT me. Hehe. How I wish... :) Yes, olay is really expensive. In fact, I already stopped using this product about a year already. I just settled for glycolic cream because it's a lot cheaper than olay like 65% cheaper. I don't want to give an impression that i'm vain. I'm not actually. It's just that, I believe that you have to take care of yourself. And I'm glad I have a dermatologist/friend who gives me tips and advice on how to take care of our skin. I don't invest in make-up so I invest it on other skin care products. I can't describe the smell of make-up either. I just abhor the smell. If you are that young, don't use make up heavily. It makes your skin older and dry. Take care of yourself always. :)

Thanks for the last sentence tip! I would definitely listen to that remark because i know it is for my own good too. Though sometimes i am guilty of using foundation and concealers for hiding my impurities. Glycolic cream seems to be effective on you. I hope other people who have troubles with their skin could read your response as it tells something a lot. You bet you are really lucky to have a close friend who is also a dermatologist. I think you are having free services from her, aren't you?

A lot of people here responded that they are a natural beauty like you and you are gifted as well. I have heard of this product and it's pretty famous in our country too *except for the price*. The ones who can afford this stuff are those in high society. If you are the face in your avatar, then you really are beautiful, two thumbs up for you! What's with the smell of make up? I haven't smelled the essence of make-ups. Thank you for sharing us your beauty regimen.

I think the type of guys you are describing are called "metrosexual". That is french for "Girlyman" I use soap, shampoo, deodorant if I need it, And toothpaste. That's about it. I have oily skin so even at 45 Y.O. I have no wrinkles. I also don't really care much for women who wear a lot of makeup. If I can see it it's too much. If I kiss a girl, I want to taste her, not her lipstick. I knew girls in high school who piled on the makeup and then wondered why their skin was breaking out. Then they would just wear even more makeup to cover up the breakouts. I always try to live by the K.I.S.S principle, Keep It Sweet and Simple.

Hi koalapenguin, Beautiful yes and maybe a bit vain to I suppose so. Use make up just a tichy wichy little bit and and skin creams and creams for the hands arms and legs too. Natural beauty that´s me well at least I am for me. Don´t use perfumes very much as I have two very good ones as presents and they last me ages. Don´t use medications, the three I have in my House they all use skin creams, moiturizers, body wash and very good perfumes. Also good bath gels and soaps and toothpaste as well. They spend loads of time in the Bathroom.

hello lovinangelsinstead, Thank you for the response. I appreciate your honesty and for sharing some of the products you use everyday. What make up are you using for your face then? the eyeliner? face powder? foundation? or all of them? For myself, i don't use eye shadows because i don't know what color would best suit my chinky eyes. I tried applying a pink shade but it appeared like a sore on my eye. So my sister always use the darker shade for my eyes when we have an important occasion to attend to. But for a casual day, i just use eyeliner, a bit of foundation dabbed with face powder afterwards, a simple lip balm and a pink powder to make a blush effect on my cheeks. Ü

Hi koalapenguin,Making myself up is very easy as I use a dab of a moisturizing cream that contains Aloe Vera and a bit of natural foundation just a teeny weeny bit darker than my fair skin (sensitive skin). I mix that with the moiturizing cream applying it very evenly all over my face. Very little eye shadow applied in ascending motion out to wards the outside of the eyebrow a little bit of blusher sometimes a good quality one and thats it. Keep out of the sun as much as possilbe around dinnertime and keep the protector which has a mirror in it in the car down too when the sun is right in your face.

I think there's definitely a difference between being vain and taking pride in how you look and taking care of how you look. I use facial wash and moisturiser every night (or at least I try to). I wish someone had told me earlier that my overly oily skin was a result of it not being moisturised enough. I spent so many years thinking that if I moisturised my face it would just worsen the problem. Turns out, not moisturising was CAUSING it. Dx

Thanks for helping elenyae about her skin issues shebang. But i think the moisturizer she uses solves her problem already. I loved that you said having oily skin is less prone to pimples. Because i have oily skin too and i moisturize every after bath. Thanks for the responses.

hi koalapenguin.... hmmm they have a word to describe guys like that.... hmm yeah 'metrosexual'.... hmm i haven't personally come across such guys, hmm i don't know why they are so conscious about their appearance.... i don't care how i look, my priority is to dress well and not make my face look good....hehe.... if you are a good person then certainly girls would fall for them not really regarding how the guys looks like, though it is a little different case with the girls, they sometimes like to make up and i don't blame them, but i don't like girls with too much make up...i don't buy anything expensive to apply on my face and body, just have a face wash so that i could use it coz my faces accumulates oil quite often and i hate it so i have to frequently keep my face clean.... hmm if you are talking about beauty then i can say well i have something inside me and not outside... ... HEHE... i don't really talk much, people would know more about me if they get to talk with me... coz people seem to get the wrong impression about me... glad to respond to your discussion koalapenguin.... hope you have a nice day and yeah don't apply to much of make up yourself....hehe

Hello again voldrox. I guess they are really metrosexuals as what you call them. I think they are conscious of their appearance because the society admires beautiful people. Our course needs to have a neat person to have a nice career. So definitely, the looks count. . Girls do fall for nice guys but it's the appearance that is seen first in a person. If a person for example has an anomaly somewhere, the chances of a potential admirer will decrease compare to those who are polished like for example the models. Don't worry, i don't wear a lot of make up in casual occasions. I just use it when i need to. Thanks for the response my friend. Have a great day!
