Is it money?Love?Children?A house?A car?I need some rest and want to be alone for some time. When people call me and visit me,all I want is not to see them and not to hear them. They talk about problems and nothing else.I dream about serenity. This would really make me happy. What do you need to be happy?

Happiness comes in stages. I am at ny happiest when those around me are happy. When my son and daughter-in-law are happy then I can relax and be happy too. When my sister in US has no problesm and all is running well then I am happy. I have a decent job, not full time but I am happy with the hours I was offered and I have enough money to pay the everyday expenses without getting in a muddle. There are a lot of things I haven't got but I don't need them so I don't worry about them. I am happy with what I have, first and foremost my health so hat Iam not a worry to anyone else. If we cann be content with our lot and not wish to have more then that is where happiness starts in my opinion. The problems that those people talk about - do they go away by talking about them all the time? I doubt it so there is just no point in talking about them. We either DO something about them or push them to one side and make the most of our time. The problems will still be there for us later.

I don't like the sound of your thoughts here my friend. You are troubled... Is there no way you can take a break?

They don't do anything to solve their problems.I think they would like someone to do this for them.Me,for example. Health should be in the first place because nothing can replace a good health. We realize it only being ill.

Excellent question Silver! An email that circulates periodically comes to mind as an answer. What would I need to be happy? Enough. Enough money to pay bills and not be afraid of losing my home. But not so much that others have to do without. Enough love so that I feel wanted, but not so much that I feel smothered. Enough food so that I can feed my family, but not so much that others go hungry. Enough companionship so that I appreciate my solitude. And enough solitude so that I appreciate company. Enough faith so that I walk with courage, but not so much that I stumble with arrogance.

Happiness is very broad meaningful word, the happiness doesn,t come true if we only got one part, it will be perfectly if we get all the parts :)

I right now in my life have everything that I need to be happy. For me what I need is the love of my husband and my children. I need to have a roof over my head, and I need to have my car to be able to go places. Those are the basic things that I need to be happy. And if I start to feel down, then I will also add a nice hot bath to my list of things that I need to be happy. I actually find that when we have a fairly decent amount of money I am not as happy as I am when we don't have any money.

Seems that you're happy and you don't need anyone or anything to be added to your list now.I think it's a great feeling.

hey there. Firstly and most importantly for me love is at the top of the list. Life can be truely wonderful but is even more exciting and beautiful if you have someone you love deeply to share those expereinces with. I have seen some amazing things but always wished that at the time I was with somone I loved to create that perfect memory. I don't need material things. A house and car are not important to me, never has been. I live for experiences. Unfortunatley sometimes to get out there and experience things you need money so unfortunately it does help to have money. It really begrudges me to say that though! I would love to have a family. I think that it would be truely amazing to see a child grow up and have someone to adore. Thanks for the good topic Silvercoin....gave me something to think about.

Never ever think that things at materialistic level will help you in achieving happiness in life. Only by spiritual understanding and only by loving service unto the lotus feet to the Supreme Personality of God Head can give you Ultimate Happiness. Some materialistic activities can give you happiness to some extent of time. But understand that they are temporary. Any thing which is temporary but appears like a permanent thing is nothing but an illusion. The Lord's illusory potency will always try to keep us away saying " Oh why do you do that It is vey difficult to follow." Also note that the Lord is supremely independent. Because we are part and parcels of the Lord we also have independence to some extent. Because we misused the independence we are thrown out of His abode and made to enjoy or suffer according to the wish. By the way have you ever heard the name Hare Krishna. If not, just reply. I will be able to give you some information about how to have the Supreme way to be Happy.

It's impossible for me because I'm surrounded by people who talk about material things and they destroy my inner calm with their tears, fears and complaints.I don't remember when was the last time I saw smiling face telling me something good.

lots of love and care...lots of smiles and peace...people feeling happy to be with me...when my children achieve something...their good results and their happy faces all make me happy ....money and all are secondary things...though essential for life i dont find happiness in material things

Hi Silvercoin, right now for me to be happy, is the health and safety of my family. As long as my parents and brother are in good health, my mind and heart is at peace; that is what I wish and pray for. Other things are secondary to this!

The things that makes me happy are good health and good life. I want to have a simple life with my family. As long as I can eat three times a day and can buy my needs it is enough for me. I'm also want a quiet life far from the city life. I want to live in rural area which has rice fields and animals it is my dream to own a land like that.
